I wouldn't mind this but I feel like it's too late. Cultural libertarianism seemed like the norm in previous forms of American counterculture and stuff. It takes a lot of principle to be an actual liberal in the sense of abdicating any power over others. And it always seems to fail.
It's like cultural pacifism: I refuse to fight or use force, the other person believes they should fight, who is going to win? Of course, the person who uses force to mold culture in their desired image.
I think libertarianism, like pacifism can only have a period of success in times of great plenty and peace. Times when there are no threats. Think America in post-WWII period and then again after post-Cold War. The 60s and the 90s. It requires you to not be concerned with surviving, because if you are threatened, you know you'll have to fight or die. If you have the option, though, it's always more enjoyable to not fight.

I'm sympathetic to a lot of libertarian attitudes and positions but this is what convinced me that it's a dead end.
I'm still a "libertarian" in the sense that I don't think the state should be used a vehicle to push one ideology or moral belief systems on everybody else, and I think people should more or less be free to live their lives as they see fit.
But I think only a small portion of the population is really attuned to that message, and I think there's more to government and politics other than less government and unlimited person freedoms.

I am a cultural libertarian, and I feel that a lot of the genuine racists here fail to realize that, as much as they dislike cultural libertarians, we need to be allied in the fight against the regressive left. We both want the same goal. Cultural libertarians want you to be able to deny the holocaust and say that niggers are inferior, because the ability to share those ideas is a human right. /pol/locks want the ability to say those things because, well, they believe them. And that's okay. The entire point of cultural libertarianism is that there are no evil ideas, only evil actions. There is nothing wrong with wanting to gas the kikes until you actually do gas the kikes.
It bothers me how there are two battling definitions of the alt!right, one that says the racism is "just a joke," which can be seen on Breitbart, and one that says it's sincere, which can be seen on The Right Stuff. The point is that it doesn't matter whether it's real or a joke, because the right to express it is what's being fought for.
This is kind of off-topic, I suppose, but I needed to get this off my chest and I didn't want to start a new thread for it.
By the way, I'm a Jewish race-mixer with some really degenerate fetishes. I'm not Milo, though. If I was, I would've been kinder to the "1488ers" in my article.
