The idea is you go there and make it more habitable with a homestead. By all accounts the land and environment (that hasn't been strip mines or exploited ) is the sort of stuff Bob Ross painted on a daily basis but even more beautiful. It's just a lack of interest in developing and the sheer size of eastern Russia that's kept it underdeveloped.

My biggest question would be how you'd interact with the locals. Obviously you can't live totally by yourself. Who do you hire to help build your home? Plumbing, electricity, construction etc. How expensive is it, how do you make sure you don't get shitty workers without contracting a company to fly out for a tiny job that would probably cost a shitton.
And as you said, not many people are just going to be naturally good at farming. It's a fun dream, but it's not done often for a reason.
