I think there's legitimacy to this. When I was in HS I had mostly female friends. They were more fun to party with, drank more heavily, and I did get to go to many parties that I might not have gotten invited to otherwise, including ones where I was the only guy there. And yes, occasionally I did meet and fuck some of their friends (though not that often since I was a nerdy twerp then just as I am now).
