ITT: We predict Trump's VP pick

I'm thinking Jeff Sessions

>drafted Trump's immigration plan
>first Senator to endorse Trump
>top Republican on Senate Judiciary Committee and opposed Obama's supreme court pick
>pro-life, harsh on immigration, could gain support from some ex-Cruzmissiles and secure southern religious right voters
>chairman of Trump's national security advisory commission
>level-headed, hard-working (http://www.newsmax.com/TheWire/hard-working-senators-capitol-hill-america/2016/03/30/id/721488/)

Only things that could deter him from being VP are if Trump decides to pick a woman or if he intends to have Sessions be Secretary of State or Secretary of Homeland Security. Jim Webb doesn't stand a chance because his position as a Democrat will make him an easy target.

Also, a lowkey populist

I don't think a southerner would be the pick. That's traditional politics.
>>
>>72976115
Jeff Sessions is also
>old as fuck

If Trump were smart he'd pick someone who could carry on his legacy. Being a VP of a successful president gives you a tremendous advantage in any subsequent presidential race.

If we're lucky we might get 16 years straight of Trump + proto-Trump. And maybe even more after that
>>
>>72976753
I wouldn't mind this. Still think Cruzmissiles will tear the idea of a cross-party ticket and many tea party faggots will not go out and vote.

i wish. but trump won't do it. at this point he's going to become more orthodox and the party would explode if he tried to make a democrat his VP pick.

if they drug it out to the convention and tried to screw him and he barely squeaked out the nomination while having to fight the party for it, this would have been a possibility. but since they played nice so will he.

Webb is - objectively - one of the strongest possible choices for a running mate.

1) His decades in the military and in Congress brings decades of leadership and political experience to the ticket.

2) His service as ASOD and SECNAV in the Reagan Administration brings credibility to Trump's foreign policy and national security platform.

3) His military service and work with the VA all-but-guarantees Trump wins support from veterans, active duties, and their families.

4) His appeal to working class whites could help Trump flip Democratic strongholds in the Rust Belt and the East Coast

5) He doesn't bring any kind of political baggage to the ticket. He's had no major scandals in his career and as a *literal* war hero his character is beyond reproach.

6) Running the first cross-party candidate since Lincoln/Johnson 150 years ago sends a strong message that Trump is a different kind of president, someone above bipartisanship, someone who doesn't give a shit about party lines, but instead cares about picking the best people for the job. Which will be all the more relevant to framing the narrative of the campaign when Clinton either picks a token woman or minority like Warren or Castro, or some embedded establishment guy like Kaine or Warner.

Maybe he'll pick someone /pol/ doesn't recognize as ''pro-white anti-globalist'' , maybe he has slapped some sense into a naive but otherwise good-hearted person and told them what's at stake, and given instructions for how to act in case he dies.

I don't know. But in short: In the absence of any shenanigans, Trump isn't picking anyone who isn't 100% dedicated to dismantling the globalist system.

Didn't Webb vote for Obamacare though?

Seems like it would be a huge 180 for him to just scrap it.

Guys, Trump can propose anybody he wants, but the convention has to approve. They'll give him wide leeway, but it will not be a Democrat, they'd vote that down.

Without the Tea Party, we wouldn't be were we're at today, you dip. Without them, Jeb Bush would be our nominee and the Neocons would still be in charge. The Tea Party originated in 2007 with Ron Paul. They helped the Republican party find its moral center, ousted a lot of big government, establishment cucks from office, and turned the GOP into a more populist party.

Its a really stupid idea. You are way, way overestimating the willingness of some traditional GOP voters to support Trump as is. He's been a Democrat for as long as he's been a Republican. If he, as a 70 year old man who says he sleeps 4 hours a night, put a Democrat one heartbeat away from the Presidency the talk of him "destroying the Republican party" would no longer be a little gag. Jim Webb had NO support before dropping out, he was polling at about 1% among Dems and independents. It would keep far more conservative-leaning people home that it would win over in Webb Democrats.

Jim Webb is a fun, and laughably ignorant, idea.

>>72991731
Capped. I'll add it to the collection of "it'll never be Webb" posts.
