I'll be soon a father and I fear about sending my kids to learn from a liberal state teacher. In our social-democraties, education has been too much of an excuse for indoctrination.

What would be your ideal school?

Protestant, Gothic.
>>
>>72643208
What do you mean by "Gothic"?
>>
>>72643357
Germanic

>>72643357
They teach them Bauhaus songs in music class.

A good public school in an affluent area same as me.
>>
>>72643610
Kek

>>72643535
Do you mean more demanding, with a focus on classic teachings?

>>72643754
Isn't public schooling pretty much fucked up in the USA?
>>
>>72643141
At this point and in the foreseeable future it would be retarded to send your kid to public school, and i say that as someone who studies teaching and already worked as a teacher. Not only from a political stance, but also when it comes to things like equipment, motivation of the staff, methods etc.

my son will probably go to a christian school that is somewhat right-leaning when it comes to students, staff and parents, but has a lot of pretty modern methods at hand when it comes to learning, social activities and pupil-teacher-relations.

It really depends on the district and even the school in the district. Every district can basically make the standards / curriculum whatever they want. Since they are funded by the local taxes a school district in a high income area will have plenty of money and can have good teachers and therefore good curriculum .

I wish there was a school that teaches more about real life problems than theoretical bullshit that we will never use it.

I mean why do we learn molecular cellular and not first aid? Why do we learn geometry and not business account?
>>
Homeschooling, OP, don't believe the "muh socializing" memes, extracurriculars will take care of that.

Personally I would homeschool till 4th grade probably. Then go to a Private School up till around 9th Grade. I would then allow my child to make the decision if they wanted to continue Private or go Public

Yeah, I studied in the same kind of institution. If you choose one that is not too shitty, it is often a good choice. The problem in France is that they have to use the same books and programs as the public ones, i.e low level education.

Is that Hogwarts?

No one said you needed to surrender first aid to learn molecular biology. The good schools are the ones that teach you both.

>>72644775
It's Eton, best school in UK/THE WORLD

>>72644638
What's the difference between Public and Private? Do you really think you child is mature enough to make this kind of decision?
>>
>>72643141
I went to a school like that.

Co-ed Religious schools are the way to go senpai.

No women can be actually quite nice. No sexual distraction. Only You and your classmates, learning and training to be better.
>>
>>72644731
well they can choose their own books from a canon here, but yeah, there is a curriculum, although there is close to no control if a school sticks to it.

What also is a good option is a Waldorf (anthroposophic) school. They are decried of being filled with Greens, but there are also lots of conservative schools of that kind, and the focus on the ability of the kid to use its own head and the big amount of crafts is a pretty great thing. Before i do that, i would really look into the school though.

>>72644638
homeschooling is illegal here sadly, but yeah, until the 4th grade i wouldnt have a problem with it also, as long as my kid gets social contact via sports or something else
>>
>>72645619
Isn't it some kind of Montessori school? Those institution can be very nice, but I fear there is a great risk : you have to investigate before you go.

Yeah because the pedophilic lib teacher that want to "open" childrens to other cultures, such as Islam or poo-in-looism is better?
>>
>>72645993
emphasis is on "modern methods", also not every christian school is run by catholic priests and an internate

>>72645907

well, thats something i would/will do anyway

Check out -- as a model, not to actually go --
Christian schools that emphasize traditional humanities like literature and mythology, and teach creativity.
Hillsdale Academy, a medieval monastery preserving the truth in the current darkness.
John Taylor Gatto, New York City Public School teacher for twenty years and author of the essential Secret History of American Publuc Education, availably for free online.
If nothing else read Gatto's book and compare what he says to your options in France.

I attended a protestant military academy 7th-12th grade and wouldn't even consider sending my children elsewhere when they reach that age.
