For the uninitiated...that's a 'McDouble' which differs from the 'Double Cheeseburger' by only having one slice of cheese.

Also, those little cheeseburgers are the best fucking thing they've got on the whole menu.

Considering most countries emulate American music and customs, I'd say that American culture has much more influence than a hamburger.

That's the height of all of human achievement (literally and figuratively). Though ours was the bold nation to do it, all of history and most of mankind's achievements culminated in that glorious endeavor. This thread is speaking of Americana, which is a whole other issue.

It's one thing that has spread globally so it must be something of the greatest invention from the u.s. Don't know anything except coca cola that has spread more.

I work as a relatively high-level corporate employee of the McDonald's corporation, and I must say that I whole-heartedly agree that my employer is probably one of the most American institutions around today.

Our efforts have helped westernize the world and show foreign nations what it means to live in the free-world. Take Vietnam for example. The US military attempted to suppress the influence of the communist sphere on a people caught between two super powers. People were killed in droves and displaced in greater numbers. The carnage of war ended only when we surrendered the field and let the enemy win.

Now, there are numerous McDonald's locations in the country, along with other American brands. The people who defeated us in war were converted to our side by being exposed to our lifestyle. American imperialism isn't about our military or democracy, it's about how we live. All people strive for the best life that they can have, and by showing them what we have to offer we can convert more to our way of life.

So yes, the McDouble is the height of our culture and history. This global war of domination is being won with it.
>>
>>72586297
Honestly its pretty impressive. A billion of those sold around the globe. Each one roughly the same in china or in the US. Thing about the logistics, economics, manpower, and marketing of that. How do you supply the meat, cheese, and grain? The tomatoes and pickles? How do you move it around the globe? How do you teach the employees to make it and the managers to operate each location?

Its honestly very impressive. Think about how long it would take to change the menu. Say you wanted a new mango habanero burger. You need to find a source for millions of habaneros and mangos. You have to account for climate and yearly weather patterns because you have to provide it globally.

Its a massive feat of ingenuity and to be honest they taste pretty good considering the company moves heaven and earth to make them and you can get it for $1.00.

Never-mind the fact Vietnam allinged themselves with you due to the threat of China. But
Exporting cancerous food to third world is not and should not be considered culture.

America has culture. In film, music, literature, fashion etc. Shitty corporate food should not be the apex of it. Either you are biased due to working in mcd or you are selling yourself short.

Fun fact: the popularity of the Chicken McNugget on its introduction spiked the demand for chicken products far beyond the number of chickens available for slaughter in the entire world. In response, industrial chicken farming was established to meet the demand.

When you look at the scale of this one company; the effect it has on commodity markets alone, it is truly baffling. So many variables are involved in these international enterprises that the scale can alter the economies of entire populations and nations.

Free enterprise is truly something to behold when you just let it run its course.

If you think the impact of McDonald's across the globe is just food, you really have no idea just how huge it really is. I have been involved in the expansion of operations abroad and seen how the proliferation of the brand has far reaching effects in untapped markets.

Take, for instance, the McDonald's training program. Achieving consistent business results across international markets with a workforce that has, at times, been operating at a 200% turnover poses a significant challenge. Doing this across oceans and language barriers makes it even more difficult. Meanwhile, all this has to be accomplished without a disruption of service.

Eating at restaurant in Hong Kong is supposed to be as simple as New York, so we have to ensure that entire cultures can adhere to the principles of our corporate culture. This means that people of every economy type in the world need to be assimilated. Exposing peoples to this is part of the Americanization of foreign populations.

If people who have been farming rice for generations can be shown these operations, then they can more easily be brought into the fold on free enterprise as a whole. Being part of a company this big means that we can expand our particular way of working to people who have never seen it before.

Most Owner-Operators started out in restaurants, and we hope to continue that in areas where this is not yet the case, furthering the economic advancement of other people.

The tangible effort of achieving extra-planetary travel and putting humans on another planet is nothing to scoff at. We evolved from apes, and could have just as easily remained at any sub-sapient stage of development. Instead, our species continued pushing the vale and chose to expand beyond our world.

If that isn't mind blowing to you, I can assure you that your level of complacency with modern life is off the charts.

Just because collateral damage is (supposedly) smaller (or non existing) doesn't mean that there is no war.

And if we understand the same tactics behind the Marshal Plan as todays workhorse for the globalist keks (ze jo0s), then, I'd argue, there is massive collateral damage.

People aren't coerced into consuming American food. They choose to do so. American Hegemony is far better than unending war. Being alive but with some aspects of American culture in your life is better than being killed because you were born in the wrong place.

Expansionist dogma will exist regardless. The current system is one in which mutually-beneficial compromise is valued over violent overthrow. I personally believe that this is the preferable alternative.

The advent of super-cheap food with high caloric and protein content was the perfect thing for the Greatest Generation. Not so much for most Boomers and Millennials. We experienced a big blue-to-white-collar shift but kept the blue-collar diet almost universally.
If I'm in a hurry I swing by there about 1/5 of the time and suck down two of those double cheeseburgers and a spicy chicken sandwich, but my job is physically demanding enough that I can do that without gaining extraneous mass.

American culture is probably best exemplified in hollywood, technology, and architecture. Even food is far better than mcd's burger. I think the very best in American Cuisine is dry rub BBQ (pic related). Now, that said, I'll take the far east's food over American any day. But then, America has all kinds of food, so fuck you.

This, the moon landings ARE overrated.

It's an impressive feat, visually. But what has it done in terms of improving the human condition? How about absolutely jack shit? Which is why we stopped going to the moon. It has no value beyond "Hey, I did it!" You might as well cite climbing to the top of Everest as the greatest human achievement. It's silly.

The inventions which have had far greater importance on the evolution of human history and the betterment of the human condition include fire, written languages, farming, metallurgy, money, the alphabet (as opposed to pictographs), the legal system, paper, electricity, the microscope, movable type, penicillin, the combustion engine, airplanes, radio, television, the transistor, computers, semiconductors, etc.

If we never landed on the moon, would the world appear to be any different than it is today? Nope. So there is no comparison. America has invented far more important things than a capsule that can go to the moon. Why don't Americans realize this?

oddly enough for how easy a burger is to make:

-grind sirloin beef 80-90% lean
-season with salt and pepper only
-cook on flat top or slotted grill 4 mins per side
-serve with whole leaf lettuce, ripe tomato, 2 slice of pickle on a round bun

I've never actually had a good burger anywhere overseas.
