They wore kilts, named the Gods the same as the Saxon ones, buildings were similar to Saxon ones. And in the books the language was very similar to old English.
Sapkowski was a massive British-boo. A lot of the tales in the books are based on Celtic and Saxon (Ultimately Germanic) myths more than Slavic ones. The elven/Nilfgaardian language is based on Welsh/Ancient British too.
