After spending time in QC and reading more about its history, I have quite a bit of respect for the place. Historically-outnumbered, but fiercely-nationalistic. Able to preserve their own culture. Local pride. Vive le Québec libre? Well, that's for QC and the rest of Canada to decide, but I hope we support them either way.
I'm a quebecoise, and I wish more Americans respected us like you do. I don't know why there's so much hatred and why we're called the rednecks of Canada.

Also, I've literally never hear an American say anything bad about Quebec in real life. Most Americans don't even know much about the place though, desu.
