>>72469476
All of the gun manufacturers already looked into this concept in the late 90s, there is no market for smart guns. Their current customer base is entirely opposed to the idea, and the very notion that a company might make a product like this caused actually hurtful boycotts. It would also not expand the market at all, people who are anti-gun now will not buy smartguns. The industry will never play ball on this stuff.

You'd think the democrats would have learned that this is political suicide already.

The boycotts were due to liberal stronghold states having laws in place that make "smert guns" mandatory technology in all new weapons sold if and when such technology became feasible.

There are people "playing ball" with this... and they're all anti-gun agents.

At the end of a presidency usually an outgoing president will sign an entire slew of executive orders called Midnight Regulations. Usually an attempt for an outgoing president to force through a bunch of policies for their political party.

What kind of bullshit do you think he'll pull if he's not even gone yet and he's doing this... he's already signed in nearly 1000 executive orders as it is.

Executive orders hold no water outside of the 10x10 capital district FYI, if the states comply with them, thats up to them.. but they legally have no weight, he cant enforce orders if the states simply disagree with them.

Any state that passes laws saying to ignore the presidents executive orders are 100% within their rights to do so.
>>
So if no one makes Smart Guns.... how can you even enforce this?

If no one initially steps forward are you going to just go with anyone? Even with someone that makes shitty guns?

Of course it would be just easier since no one is willing to make it - to force them to make it but saying, "If you sell weapons to law enforcement they must have smart tech"

I fucking hate liberalism

i'll never turn in my guns

the only faggots that will get fucked with any smartgun shit is noguns faggots.

anway guns have enough failure points already, introducing more failure points is a great way to make guns useless chunks of expensive metal.

gun prices alone keep them out of the hands of most plebs. 300 bucks for new turk shit, 350-400 for new american shit, 500+ new for euro shit quality pistols. that isn't even getting into rifle prices for a good semi auto rifle, you're gonna pay 650 for a low end american ar15 and the same for a low end imported AK like a WASR.

god bless the Hi Point company, though they must have some government pressure to not make too good of a gun for too good of a price.

still want a hi point 9mm carbine but they really need some proper magazines that aren't 10 round single stacks.

Crime? What crime? What you call "crime" is just the oppressed fighting back against a systemically racist country and laws.

In this backward country we have people in office that actually believe you have the right to murder someone simply for taking property. The reason why he is "taking" your property is because you preventing him from attaining it himself by engaging in this systematically racist society.

It's an extremely dangerous thing. What if the scanner fails in the heat of the moment, or even just causes enough latency to give you the disadvantage in a firefight? What if it gets "hacked" or the government has a backdoor and you get shut out of it? Very bad idea.

I hope this nigger has to look over his shoulder for the rest of his life, and that the secret service intentionally leaves security holes.

Liberal over estimate the loyalty of the population in general.
It seems inconceivable to them that police/military would ever refuse to do whatever the government told it to. But the fact is that many of us joined because we love the values that America was built on and want to protect them; from our own government if necessary.
Commander in Chief is below the Constitution in the chain of command.

Military would never buy it- the Chinese are better at hacking and cyber than we are so they could turn all our guns off.

>Don't vote for me or my son ever again!

Implying it isn't: "Don't vote for me or my husband's son again!"

In a sane world smart guns and traditional guns could be sold side by side with no penalty to buying a traditional gun. In the real world smart guns will give the government an excuse to limit/restrict traditional guns. Don't fall for the smart gun meme.

No one in their right mind would buy a smart gun. The best guns have the fewest moving parts for a reason. RELIABILITY.

Fucking cuomo. his safe act devastated the economy of upstate new york. All the business that could leave, left. And it wasn't just gun makers that left, it was all the pro gun business people too. I used to have a decent job in westchester making AC ducts for skyscrapers. My boss got so pissed off at the thought of having to register his guns, that he closed up shop right before the registry went into effect. And it's not just me, alot of people lost their jobs because their company owners didn't want to lose their guns.

The mechanisms of a gun are so simple that you will never truly remove them if people want them.
