I became old enough to be a delegate a few elections ago and some of the older republicans alienated me because I didn't know all the platforms and a lot of them were too stuck up to tell me because I was one of "them." Like how was I supposed to know why feminism wasn't tenable?
At any rate there were people gracious enough to explain it overtime, and probably the biggest shock was to see a lot of the leaders and support for Ron Paul were more traditionalist than he was. We mainly just stuck with talking about the Fed and the IRS back then, not much time allowed to talk you know.
