There are twice as many whites living in poverty as blacks in the US. And an equivalent number of Hispanics. Blacks are roughly 25% of the impoverished population, and yet commit over 55% of the murders. Statistically, the percentage of an area that is black is a better predictor of it's violent crime rate than the percentage of an area that is poor.

If genes are the cause then we should be able to point out which genes are responsible. I have not heard of any studies conducted to confirm this and I doubt any will in the current political climate. The easiest counter is to bring up Hispanics. Hispanics have a 50% larger population than blacks (blacks about 12%, Hispanics about 18%). Hispanics are about twice as likely to live in poverty as Blacks. Those two facts alone mean that, if poverty is the causation, that Hispanics should commit far more crime than blacks (in total AND per capita).
However, that is not the case at all. Blacks commit about 50% of ALL violent crime in this country. Even if every single crime not committed by a black was committed by a Hispanic we would still not get close to the same per capita rate as blacks.

Bullshit. Hispanics do not have access to the same welfare resources (or public resources in general) that blacks do. As many of them (as much as 20%) are illegal, they fear to have government contact. Even those that are not illegal may have illegals living with them or otherwise connected to them and thus avoid accessing services. This is especially true for those that live in poverty.
Further, many Hispanics are even MORE disadvantaged than blacks because they either speak English as a second language or perhaps do not speak it at all - or poorly. They may lack even basic documents (such as a documented Highschool degree) that prevent them from even being considered for many jobs.
And while BLM froth around about being treated unfairly, around 10-20 million (total black population is about 40 million, just to give scale) Hispanics are 'hunted' by the police as illegals for no other reason than being here.
All of that, and they don't even come close to the per capita violent crime rate of blacks.
We could go further and talk about being in a completely different culture or leaving behind local support networks (immigrants, etc). But I don't think that is necessary.
