I want it privatised.

Privatise and kick these entitled junior doctors out on their arses
>>
Government not managing healthcare properly? Who could guess!
>>
NHS has far bigger problems than junior doctors contracts.

It's unsustainable. Chucking money at it won't work.

Only feasible Solution is privatisation, or restricting the amount of healthcare it provides and who to.

And I thought the NHS was something to be revered.
Look at all the Canadians coming here for our Healthcare.

Kinda funny how socialized medicine doesn't seem to work.

You realise the government has been fucking the NHS in the ass because they WANT it to fail.

I had to get stitches and the nurse who was in the emergency department told me she was 8 hours through her 24 hr shift.

It is bullshit and the same is happening in the education sector because the government wants to privatise (see academies) it.

My gf, brother in law, mum, and my cousin are all teachers, they work on average 70hrs a week (this is including the school holidays) because of the amount of work that the government is pushing on them.

If you can't see the parallels between those two sectors you are a moron.
>>
>>72215372
Show some respect degenerate NEET, you don't bite the hand that heal.
>>
The NHS would have plenty of money if Hospitals weren't forced to buy medicine and equipment from select manufacturers who charge extortionate amounts of money then give kickbacks to MPs
>>
>>72219100
>And I thought the NHS was something to be revered.
Not by the Conservatives, hell Hunt wrote a book how to best privatise the damn thing.

Doesn't change shit since Blair got the semi-privatised meme rolling, pushing back to fully nationalised is gonna take years even if a govt. that explressly wants it renationalised.

>Kinda funny how socialized medicine doesn't seem to work.

Oh it works fine when it's funding isn';t slashed to shit, made to work twice as hard because of some cuckservatives manifesto who also slashed the funding, or being parcelled off into "firms" and corporate clinics like ambulance services, rendering the service inefficient cos WOW WHODATHUNK HIVING SHIT OFF TO DIFFERENT COMPANIES was a good idea

And glorious privatisation isn't even going to work, look at our trains, our energy companies, sooner or later it'll be sold off and pour shekel/yen/dollars into some fatcat while the service goes to shit
>>
>>72219100
Socialized medicine works, problem is a fraction of the population coming from 3rd world, the same as always, leeches the system.

We import poverty faster than we create wealth, no wonder why the system is unsustainable.
>>
>>72219981
Its funny how there's this hypocritical duality in the minds of Americans, you have politicians and businessmen.

Trump is a businessmen and they think he will make a great politician because he's successful, yet they see the socialised medicine being run by successful politicians and say it's failing because they're politicians and not businessmen.

They cannot bring themselves to admit that socialised medicine is better for a society.
>>
>>72214360

I am truly split over this. Part of me says the actions of the BMA are entirely politically motivated. The other part of me remembers that Hunt wrote a fucking book advocating for the destruction of the NHS.
>>
>>72220415
The government wants the NHS privatised, they know this and the easiest way to accomplish it is to put pressure on healthcare workers through stagnant pay and increaased hours.

They are doing the same to the education sector:

The government introduces new legislation syaing that failing schools will be forced to go to academies, they also introduce a new curriculum which drastically increased the amount of paperwork they need, because now rather than simply managing grades teachers need to do paperwork for each objective for each lesson for each child.

This impacts the quality of teaching and forces more schools to be turned over to academies.
>>
>>72219757
>the government wants to privatise
public services are how the government justifies its existence. You're a moron. They want to tax you for everything they can, the largest amount, and then say its covered in your various public benefits, while pocketing the lion's share.
>>
>>72220596
Further to this:

From speaking to teachers I know, academy heads are paid too much.

The ones who runs the academy for my mums school is on about 200k a year, for what? He doesn't do anything with the school but oversee it.

That is money that should be spent on the kids to ensure they get a good education.
>>
>>72215372

You realise we already struggle to train and retain enough doctors?

>>72217941

This is a big part of it. Essentially, one way or another the NHS has to start turning a profit. Given that healthcare is free over here they need to look at diversifying. UK med students are among the best in the world. I don't know if we could start a system of training for developing countries where they pay some cash towards it or something but yeah, without a new source of income aside the government the NHS is only going to get worse with our aging population and turd world filth we're so keen to import.
>>
>>72220654
>public services are how the government justifies its existence
And yet you don't have anywhere near the level of socialised healthcare in america.

Cameron wants to make The UK as comparable to The US as possible so there is less red tape when trading.
>>
I dig all these anti-NHS bongs. You don't know how good you have it. I hope they do privatize it so you can find out.
>>
>>72220654

He is right. Hunt wrote this book

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-hunt-privatise-nhs-tories-privatising-private-insurance-market-replacement-direct-democracy-a6865306.html

>Amongst other ideas, the book contained a blueprint for replacing the NHS with an insurance market system – and called for the private sector to be brought in.

He now tries to disown this document but you can see why this leaves a bad taste.
>>
>>72214360
Privatised desu.
>>
>>72220973
If they try to privatise the NHS there will be riots in the streets.

Wait for the TTIP to be implemented, they'll do it in secret overnight and people will die because of it, for most Brits the NHS is a sacred thing.

Even here where people eat up the right wing ultra capitalist dogma brits are split on whether this si a good or bad thing, in wider society it is a given that the NHS should stay public,

To back this up:
https://uk.isidewith.com/poll/420242762

Notice how complete privatisation is at 0% with over 1.6million votes.
>>
>>72221258
The important thing is to privatise everything but the doctors and nurses themselves and also try and get more of them which aren't from fucking india or some muslim, they're lazy and health risks.
>>
>>72220596

>The government wants the NHS privatised, they know this and the easiest way to accomplish it is to put pressure on healthcare workers through stagnant pay and increaased hours.

If this is just about pay I think the doctors should suck it up for a bit. The tories aren't gonna be there forever.

I don't think any of the terms in the new contract are that unfair. As I say, I'm torn on this.
>>
>>72214360
Same shit is being pushed here.
>Work every day of the week and reduced pay.

I plan on striking too. I wish your junior (the vast majority) doctors success.
>>
>>72221719
>The tories aren't gonna be there forever.
I really want to say the same, but dear God someone needs to put a gaffer on Corbyn once in a while.

They'll probably ride Osborne into office on a "Look at this stupid fucking commie" ticket in 2020
>>
>>72221719
The TTIP will privatise most of the NHS anyway before the Tories leave power.

Also the terms are unfair in that they are being told they have to work more hours for no extra pay.

No-one works for free mate. And they are right that it is having a knockon effect on care as those who have fulfilled their mandatory few years working for the NHS fuck off abroad and we are stuck with perpetual junior doctors and nurses.
>>
>>72219757
Maybe it's failing because it's a shit system senpai?
>>
>>72220807
Healthcare in america is a huge failure, it's a scam scheme built by insurance and pharmaceutics companies in which they milk the average worker dry.

Too many people fail to see that healthcare like national defense, education, justice and law enforcement are not random markets of consumption, they have a huge impact on standard of living and social harmony between classes.

The main role of healthcare, before everything is to provide the maintenance of the actual and future workforce.
Having someone prevented to begin or continue to work because he had no access/subpar prestation is a disaster for a country economy.

I don't say you should not have a privatized sector (notably because it solves a lot of problem inherents to the public one) but keeping a public sector with high prestations is a worthy investment, especially for a, economy based on tertiary sector like UK or France who base their wealth on their citizens and not on material ressources.
>>
>>72221989
It's not failing yet and its not because its a shit system, the NHS worked for years providing some of the best healthcare in the world.

NHS doctors pioneered medical breakthroughs and treatments, today the staff are oveworked because the government mandates it.

They have created this type of environment, not the hospital managers or the local GP surgeries.

They have fought the government every step of the way to ensure the best healthcare for the country, and the government has tried to trip them up at every obstacle.
>>
>>72222204
I knew you'd get it France, fuck the privateers. I'll raise a chablis to you tonight.
>>
Utterly ridiculous. It's BUPA Cunt'll chair, not "ABC Healthcare Ltd."
>>
>>72221877

No it won't. Explicit promises have been given on this. Besides, TTIP is almost dead. Turns out the EU commission shouldn't have been caught trying to do it in secret.

>Also the terms are unfair in that they are being told they have to work more hours for no extra pay.

Are you a doc? I'm genuninly curious because my understanding is taht maximum hours will be capped at 72 (as opposed to 96 currently). Also that if you are required to work more than one sat in four you are paid overtime for it. Plus the basic rate increase of 13%. The only loss I can see here is people who do one Saturday in four every month will be losing half a day to a days pay which I'm certain is offset by the 13%.

On the other hand, apparently this will affect more certain specialties who are required to do more out of hours work and may put people of going for said specialties.

Would be nice if somebody from the BMA could hop in here and field a few questions.
>>
>>72221989

Yeah sure thing. Why is it that your government spends three times the amount per head on healthcare to deliver worse results AND you have to pay for it?
>>
>>72222385
>Besides, TTIP is almost dead
You better not be lying to me man

Please tell me that shitstain is going down
>>
..then they came for the Doctors, and I did not speak out, for I had a cancelled knee appointment.
>>
>>72222240
Don't waste your time with this kind of stupid amerifat, they are convinced they are the best in everything, even despite the fact that they overpay and their performances are subpar.
>>
>>72222458

Because of crony government intervention. Look at the AMA. Look at our health insurance regulations.

Quit licking the boot, bongers. Embrace free market capitalism.

FMIDF pls go.

People are free to crony up all they like in the pure and true free market. The ideology is the root cause of the globalisation we're seeing today. Literal cancer.
