tarantino got people in a theater to cheer while watching people in a theater get massacred. i dont wanna get into a whole analysis right now but it set it up pretty well with things like when landa says in the opening scene about sometimes just hating things because of their title not because of anything they specifically did (rat vs squirrel), the german officer who was asked if he won his medal for killing jews when it was actually for bravery, then he was brutally murdered for not selling out his fellow soldiers. and the nazi soldier at the bar who just wanted to get through the war so he could raise his newborn son and then is murdered as well as soon as he surrenders his weapon.
