YA BASHAR
>The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Liwaa Al-Fatemiyoun (Afghani paramilitary) – continued their large-scale offensive in the Palmyra countryside on Monday, striking the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) defensive positions along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway.
>The primary focus for the Syrian Armed Forces on Monday was the oil rich town of ‘Arak, which has been under the control of ISIS since mid-May of 2015 when they captured the nearby village of Al-Sukhanah.
>According to a military source from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) at the T-4 Military Airport, the Syrian Armed Forces are now 10 km away from this strategic town that is located at the eastern part of the Homs Governorate.
>If the Syrian Armed Forces capture ‘Arak from ISIS, they will be in position to strike on of the last villages between the Deir Ezzor Governorate and Palmyra.
>More importantly, the Syrian Armed Forces appear to have much more in the works than Deir Ezzor City because their recent movements reveal their intentions to split up their units and push to the T-3 Military Airport.

>American warships may join European Union vessels off the coast of Libya by the summer in a Nato-led attempt to slow the flow of refugees from Africa into Europe, it emerged at a meeting of the G5 world leaders in Hanover.
>Officials at the G5 meeting said it was now being proposed that the EU and Nato work together off Libya sharing intelligence and assets to close down the smugglers’ networks. EU leaders, especially Italian ministers, are deeply concerned by a potential surge in the number of refugees reaching Europe from Africa, even though there has not yet been a spike in the figures this year.
>Operation Sophia, stretching from the territorial waters of Greece, south of Crete, to the Egyptian coast, is limited to gathering intelligence on smugglers’ networks and helping vessels in distress. The expansion of Nato’s role would be a further sign of US president Barack Obama’s recognition that the migration crisis is destabilising European politics and, as a result, US interests.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Eight_%28G8%29
>The forum originated with a 1975 summit hosted by France that brought together representatives of six governments: France, the Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, thus leading to the name Group of Six or G6. The summit became known as the Group of Seven or G7 in 1976 with the addition of Canada. Russia was added to the political forum from 1997, which then became known as the G8; Russia was, however, suspended in 2014. The European Union has been represented within the G8 since the 1980s but originally could not host or chair summits.[5] The 40th summit was the first time the European Union was able to host and chair a summit.
>>72080190
>The Group of Eight (currently known as Group of Seven) is a governmental political forum. It was originally formed by six leading industrial countries and subsequently extended with two additional members – one of which, Russia, has been suspended.[1][2][3][4] Since 2014 in effect it comprises seven nations and the European Union.

Well I might have misunderstood so I apologize ,they are separatists, they are the only group that doesn't want to stay as a united country and fight for their nation, they seem to only think of themselves first.
They are not and never have been fighting for a religious reasons, their motives are always tribal, they have an agenda, so them being Muslim or not doesn't really matter in this case.
Every group want's Syria to stay united from the Arab to the Assyrian, except the Kurd.

Merkel proposes controversial plan for safe zones in Syria
By Giacomo Fracassi
During her visit to Turkey, German Chancellor Angela Merkel proposed the creation of “safe zones” in Syria to shelter refugees in areas of the country where the ceasefire is working.
At a speech in Gaziantep Merkel proposed “zones where the ceasefire is particularly enforced and where a significant level of security can be guaranteed”.

>>72083946
The fun thing is that this concept of "safe zones" is completely redundant because right now the zones held by Assad are already relatively safe.

I think that putin folded, that's the scheme they wanted to pull at the start of the russian air campaign, safe spaces for moderates from saudi coalition to be trained against isis and human shields against syrian/russian aviation.
https://www.hillaryclinton.com/feed/hillary-clinton-just-outlined-plan-defeat-isis-and-global-terror-3-things-you-need-know/
1. We need to crush ISIS on its home turf.
We can’t just contain ISIS—we need to defeat it. That means going after the group in Syria, Iraq, and across the Middle East. And it means ramping up airstrikes and making sure local and regional ground troops have what they need to go after ISIS and create safe spaces.
2. We need to disrupt and dismantle terrorist infrastructure—on the ground and online.
Old school tactics aren’t going to cut it when it comes to defeating a terrorist group that has mastered the art of online propaganda. ISIS and global jihadists are recruiting, training, and inciting violence on social media—breeding a growing network of terrorists around the world. The U.S. needs to work with our partners around the world to be just as savvy.
3. We have to protect America and our allies.
We need better coordination and information-sharing all around to break up terror plots and prevent attacks—between European governments and law enforcement, between Silicon Valley and Washington, and between local police officers and the communities they serve.

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-04-24/obama-says-merkel-on-right-side-of-history-in-refugee-crisis
President Barack Obama piled praise on Chancellor Angela Merkel for being “on the right side of history” with her open-door stance on refugees, bolstering the German leader whose popularity is weighed down at home because of the influx.
In effusive remarks on what may be his last trip to Germany as president, Obama lauded his “friend and partner” Merkel for her “remarkable endurance.” He singled out her refusal to close the border in response to Europe’s worst refugee crisis since World War II, which has come at a political price.
“Perhaps because she once lived behind a wall herself, Angela understands the aspirations of those who have been denied their freedom and who seek a better life,” Obama said alongside Merkel, who grew up in communist-ruled East Germany, at a news conference in the German city of Hanover. “I know that politics around this issue can be difficult, in all of our countries.”
Even as the flow of migrants into Germany has slowed after about 1 million asylum-seekers arrived last year, Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union suffered electoral losses in three German states last month, beleaguered by criticism from some members of her own bloc and the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany party.

During the first Democratic presidential debate, the following exchange took place between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders about U.S. policy in Syria:
CLINTON: ... And, to — provide safe zones so that people are not going to have to be flooding out of Syria at the rate they are. And, I think it’s important too that the United States make it very clear to Putin that it’s not acceptable for him to be in Syria creating more chaos, bombing people on behalf of Assad, and we can’t do that if we don’t take more of a leadership position, which is what I’m advocating.
SANDERS: Well, let’s understand that when we talk about Syria, you’re talking about a quagmire in a quagmire. You’re talking about groups of people trying to overthrow Assad, other groups of people fighting ISIS. You’re talking about people who are fighting ISIS using their guns to overthrow Assad, and vice versa. I’m the former chairman of the Senate Veterans Committee, and in that capacity I learned a very powerful lesson about the cost of war, and I will do everything that I can to make sure that the United States does not get involved in another quagmire like we did in Iraq, the worst foreign policy blunder in the history of this country. We should be putting together a coalition of Arab countries who should be leading the effort. We should be supportive, but I do not support American ground troops in Syria.
CLINTON: ...Well, nobody does. Nobody does, Senator Sanders.

Editor of Bangladesh's first and only LGBT magazine killed
Xulhaz Mannan hacked to death in country where several academics and bloggers have been brutally murdered
Xulhaz Mannan was one of two people hacked to death in an attack in the capital, Dhaka, police said, by a gang posing as couriers in order to gain access to his apartment in the Kalabagan area of the city.
Mohammad Iqbal, the officer in charge of the local police station, confirmed that about six people had entered the apartment building and hacked Mannan and his friend to death in a first-floor flat. Two other people were seriously injured.
“A person came with a box identifying himself as courier service personnel. Xulhaz took him upstairs to his flat,” Iqbal said.
Mannan, 35, was the editor of Roopbaan, the country’s only magazine for the LGBT community and also worked at the US development agency USAid. The magazine had been launched in 2014 to promote greater acceptance of LGBT communities in Bangladesh.
A security guard at Mannan’s building said the group had identified themselves as courier company officials when they arrived at around 5pm. “Half an hour later, I heard shouting and shooting sounds from the flat and went to look into the incident,” he told the Dhaka Times. “The assailants then attacked me with knives.”
Police said they had found the box, but did not divulge its contents.

>putin folded in syria?
Not in the slightest.
The ceasefire brokered by won Russia a twofold victory:
Propaganda Victory: "Russia will be stuck in a quagmire" -t. Obama. Russia displayed the capabillity of an extremely effective "limited strike", which managed to rehabilitate a dying Syrian Government into one that is now winning back land.
Diplomatic Victory: It was clear to Russia from the beginning that the terrorists won't accept any such ceasefire. However, that is not the case for the cucked west. The way for them to realize this? Force a ceasefire. And then, wait for the terrorists to break it.
I believe now, more than ever, as evidenced by the freudian slip by one Col. Warren, the Western narrative of a "moderate opposition" is dissolving into nothingness, and that will eventually translate for support for the Syrian Government.
Addendum: Russia, having unilaterally withdrawn their forces, can also unilaterally bring them back, as needed. So, no. Assad is and will be in safe hands.

I can tell you all the names of all the Syrian Governorates, but I can't tell you what happened yesterday in that god forsaken patch of soil we call "Mindanao".
Much less redpill you on it.
As a general thing, though, whether or not we pay ransom to the terrorists is pretty unpredictable, though it seems you have a better chance if you were American. Otherwise, we don't like dealing with terrorists and just try to take the hostages back. Which is a risk, you should understand.
All in all, just avoid this country, if you're a tourist. Or, at least, avoid the southwestern coasts or anywhere south. Stay in the big cities.
>>72086302
Yes, because the ceasefire has already been broken by the terrorists first. You don't wait for CNN to report "ceasefire broken" before you act.

>All in all, just avoid this country, if you're a tourist. Or, at least, avoid the southwestern coasts or anywhere south. Stay in the big cities.

>>72084781
Probably in Mosul, since there are less airstrikes in that city than in Raqqah. The Coalition strikes both Iraq and Syria while Russia strikes only Syria so there's less airstrikes on the Iraqi side thus "safer" for him to stay there.

Nothing that wouldn't happen in a country with a significant muslim population.
Thankfully, we're cleanly separated by water all around, and we basically have most of our Muslims in a "preserve" in our southern island.
Keeps the bloodshed localized, while letting the other two relatively civilized.
There, there's a bunch of nerd pretending to be ISIS without the funding, Indonesian agitators, muslim tribes killing christian tribes (who fight back), private armies by corrupt politicians, foreign knife-edge investing in the, honestly, extremely rich mineral and natural resources in that area which remains untouched (in part, due to it's wild-west nature). It's a heck of a basketcase, at least; that's my impression based on how it's reported. I'm sure it's a bit more civilized than that, since there are actually cities there.
But then again, Aleppo is technically a city. So, yeah.

As I said, I don't follow local news very much.
However, the elections have indeed made huge waves that even I can't ignore it.
What my very limited knowledge can conclude is the following:
Roxas = Filipino Jeb!
Binay = Filipino Hillary
Duterte = Sort of a Trump that's a lot more brash, a lot less media savvy, a bit less intelligent, and is actually a career politician with a (in)famous mean streak.
Miriam = the walking dead
Poe = Sort of a more popular Roxas because nepotism and womyns. I've heard the debates. She's just as socialist as the current admin.
Do vice presidents even matter? Only in a few scenarios:
Miriam wins and dies within 2 weeks of office.
Binay wins and gets impeached/imprisoned within 2 weeks of office
Duterte wins and gets CIA'd within 2 weeks of office.
Otherwise, glorified table lamp.
As for the overall political scene I don't know much more than what my politically savvy (local) father tells me. He's a bit more than a red pill... I'd say he's purple pill. He knows the shit that goes on, but he's more of a type that would take advantage of it himself than fight it. But he's not a politician because he's been burned by the system before and hates it
General buzzwords that describe Filipino politics:
Nepotism
Tribalism
Bribery
With a little "grease" (a few big bills or naming some big names you know) you can cut a lot of red tape.
It's practically heaven on earth for wealthy people, but also the opposite for the expanding poor.
I think that about covers it, Unless you have some specific questions that I might not be able to answer.

Edrogan is coming to a 2 day visit to Croatia today. He is bringing lots of business people as well.
Wanna bet how much will we humiliate ourselves to accommodate him?
Probably
>will agree to ever ratify the law that Armenian Genocide happened
>give even more of ex-yu weapons to his proxies in Syria
>agree to build some giant awful mosque in Croatia
>>72093179
How is it that Edrogan managed to buddy up with so many Euro Leaders? What does he offer them?

Yemen has gone incrreibly fucky lately. You know how ISIS are a self-declared state? Yeah so are AQAP
>How Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen has made al Qaeda stronger – and richer
http://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/yemen-aqap/
It actually sounds kinda based.
>If Islamic State’s capital is the Syrian city of Raqqa, then al Qaeda’s is Mukalla, a southeastern Yemeni port city of 500,000 people. Al Qaeda fighters there have abolished taxes for local residents, operate speedboats manned by RPG-wielding fighters who impose fees on ship traffic, and make propaganda videos in which they boast about paving local roads and stocking hospitals.
They have popular support among the 500,000 people there too. This will be much harder to displace than ISIS monkeys.
>>72095933
I am ignorant about the whole situation in Yemen except that Saudis die there.
Well looks like Turkey going to invade Syria.
