Gentlemen, what is your stance on Kurds?

Some people tells me they're islamists that shouldn't be trusted, others tell me they are marxists/zionists. Then others tell me they are religious-indifferent and they even have christians among their ranks. I also I just saw this: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=e58_1461502751 . Yes, I know recordings of crying children might be seen as opportunist propaganda, but still.

I also know the FSA is purely islamist and US-funded and Assad is pretty much regarded as a dictator in the West, although probably a lesser evil. I've also read that he used to discriminate against Kurds, kicking them out of their homes so Arabs could settle and not giving them citizenship so that "democratically elected" sounds like utter BS to me.

I would thank any opinions and information you give me on these matters.

What will you do now?
-Fight for Ottoman-empire is what Jews want because it won't succeed but keep up a war/conflict
-Fight for Kurdistan is what Jews want because it won't succeed but keep up a war/conflict

Will you support Assad as the bollwerk against Greater Israel and prevent the foundation of a Kurdish State in North Syria/Iraq ?

Or will you at some time attack North Syria Kurds and give NATO a reason to kick you out?

I'm sorry to hear that. But...
Accusing someone of terrorism tells the person has been fed pre-chewed opinions. Just using the word terrorism tells that you can't describe the actions and motivation behind them.
Things I've read about communism revolve around finnish-russian relations and history and most of the misery there was not caused by the communist agenda but by the capitalistic interests. And this goes further than the roots of working classes and industrial era in Finland. Socialism is the biggest threat to banking.

Guys guys

I was drunk as hell last night so I took a taxi home after clubbing. My cab driver was a Kurd. Guy basically said that ypg/peshmerga should declare independence soon, because Assad is evil or something(I can't remember) and that once they do the Kurds in Iraq, Iran and turkey will follow.

holy shit the subversion is real

the pkk kurds blew up a bus station during rush hour down the street from me around 1 month ago, killing 34 innocent civilians including a couple from my school and wounding close to a hundred more
i would say that they are fucking terrorists alright, and calling them terrorists does not mean that i don't know their motivation, i know them better than you do

communists are cancer, they are the same shit as islamists and i would even consider these mountain niggers religious with apo as their prophet
fuck the pkk, fuck them sideways with a baseball bat

video related, the laughing communist bitch making bombs that killed civilians was killed by the security forces some time ago

>>
>>71931730
So, with your own words, define me what a terrorist is.
>>
>>71931129
What I mentioned is something I've seen happen in my own lifetime. I've seen how the politicians with marxist tendencies - some directly from the former communist party - created a climate in which this terrorist attack was allowed to take place. I've seen with my own eyes how the first political assassin since the 17th century was released from prison on "good behavior".

As for history, you don't have to look very far to see what the communist regimes of countries like Cambodia, USSR, China, North Korea, etc. have done. In many countries where communists were suppressed the core of the movement turned into gangs of terrorists and criminals. A few of the top off my head are Turkey, the Philippines, Colombia, and India.

Worst of all, these communist gangs of terrorists claim to adhere to "progressive" ideology, while in fact all they can do and have ever done is to destroy and kill. This is the reality of your communism.

There's some strong cultural kurdish influences, but the PKK (Turkey and Syria) branch I fully support. They have people's power, anarcho-collectivism, radical egalitarianism etc. . The kurdish government in Iraq, however, is basically a criminal organization with an army, just foreign supported corrupt clans controlling territory.

At any length, it's better than the IS insanity.

Due to ongoing government advances in Damascus, rebels now control less than half the territory they previously did. Subsequently, the SAA has reestablished stability in the vast majority of districts inside the Syrian capital.

If the SAA should one day capture all of Damascus, this would notably free up tens of thousands of troops for other frontlines, such as the ongoing offensive against ISIS east of Palmyra.

I'm not mehmet above but I can give a try as his definition is a lot like U.S. Supreme Court definition for "porn" (in the context of a decision about free speech): he doesn't know how to define it but he knows it when he sees it. Getting 34 civvies blown in a bus pretty much fits the bill.

I can define it better, the reasoning being based solely in a single assumption: the definition of the "State".

Assumption: the "State" in a given geographical area is the structure, composed by people acting in its capacity, that holds the monopoly in the use of unopposed violence in that particular area as the ultimate solution for disagreements.

For instance: the KRG are clearly the state in their area in northern Iraq, despite not being a country. There is no other structure in that area that can resort to the threat of violence in order to solve disagreements, at least not without descending to war against them.

Same thing goes for the area under control by the Islamic State. Hopefully not for a long time but they are not only responsible for the maintenance of their areas but they can also compel, under the threat of violence, the compliance of the civilians in their area.

In other areas in Syria, like Idlib and rebel held Aleppo, or Libya as a whole, at this point there is no functioning state as no group managed to achieve the monopoly of violence as a tool for coercing compliance.

Take relatively new states, like the U.S., or old states, like Portugal. People believe that compliance is mantained by "the will of the governed" (democracy) but the state always have the option of the threat of violence and the monopoly of that option. Any other actor using violence inside their areas of control would get in trouble with and receive threats of violence from the government themselves.

In many areas of Mexico, despite a government existing, the real state are the Cartels. In Brazil, in some favelas the drug lords were the state.

Now, in the assumption that this definition for state is accepted, there are only a few options to try to break this monopoly in the application of violence in order to either replace the government or to secede:

1. To work within the the guidelines set by the government itself. Elections, membership in the party, marriage into the kingdom, etc.

2. Declaration of war and all out confrontation, either with the support of the locals or by invading, capturing territory and restoring the monopoly of violence in the conquered area.

Killing is a natural consequence of the second option above, including the killing of parties not involved directly in the struggle for the establishment of that monopoly of violence.

When that killing occurs as part of the confrontations, or as collateral damage in acts of destruction of vital infrastructure in the opponent war apparatus, war economy or infrastructure, that's collateral damage and a very important part of every war.

But sometimes the killing happens not to advance the goal of establishing a state and to achieve the monopoly of violence in a certain area, but just to have people from the other side (involved or not) killed.

Sometimes that happens as retaliation, sometimes to make the opponent population suffer and its government unpopular, sometimes it's just to prove they can and to get more internal support.

And that's what I define as terrorism: the killing of uninvolved parties in the middle of a struggle for the monopoly of violence in a certain area for other reason other than to directly advance that goal.

Why are Turks fascist?

If Turks were fascist there wouldnt be millions of Kurds in west Turkey having a good job and a good income.

i could say that you and belgium/europe are a bunch of fasicts, but you would get triggered offcourse and telling me to fuck off to Turkey, but you as an enlightened european are free to call anyone a fascist however you like offcourse, you are superior and above, only your objective view matters

I don't understand what is happening. First off the US knew that Saudi Arabia was largely responsible for 9/11 from the start. Not only did they continue to ally with the Saudis, but they also used the attack as a pretext to invade Afghanistan. However, despite the strong relations with the Saudis, the Saudis also had strong relations to both the Taliban and Afghanistan at the time. So we basically got attacked by Saudis and then attacked their ally and still maintained strong relations? Literally why?

>The Death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker's Hill

>General Warren was a former Massachusetts Physician who was recruited into the Contential Army as a General. However, he participated in the battle of Bunker Hill as an ordinary Private and he was killed storming a British redoubt.

In the painting, Warren is dressed in White which is typically used to symbolize innocence or goodness. The air and the surrounding area is dark which is likely a stylistic choice to highlight the tragedy of the event. Interestingly though, Warren is not the center of the painting, rather the redcoats instead. This might be intended to invoke feelings of anger towards them by the painter.

pyd and the pkk are the same shit in different states, just because pyd doesn't attack turkey directly to not get blown the fuck out does not mean that they are different organization
pkk and pyd use the same command structure, same supply lines, get trained in the same facilities, have the same commanders and adhere to the same ideology.
pkk also uses this tactic of division of forces, they have created an alphabet soup of decentralized groups in turkey to carry out attacks against civilians, to be able to deny that they do terrorism anymore in europe.
tak, yps, pyd, hkpc, pkk etc these are all the same group with different names at this point.

>I'll pick the one that at least has some trappings of leftism
the ground ideology of turkey can be considered leftist, kemalism as it was called later encompasses;
six fundamental pillars: Republicanism, Populism, Nationalism, Secularism, Statism, and Reformism.

Interestingly, if you look closely you see that the British officer in front is actually trying to prevent Warren's death by holding back the bayonet of another soldier. However, he is too late. The officer depicted is Major John Small. The Painter, John Trumbull, decided to give Small this sympathetic portrayal because the two men had met in person at some point and they apparently got along very well.

>an enlightened despot like ataturk is fine, but erdogan is just becoming another unenlightened despot like mugabe, putin, etc.

Let me explain to you something, do you realize why alot of minorities including kurds support erdogan and akp?

Its because they work under the umbrella of islamism, islamism is not centered around turkism, minorities rather have islam + the fact they can be what they are instead of secularism/turkism + supressed to the complete

those leftist kurds you like so much will tell you one of the main problems of todays turkey is their love for ataturk (hint "Happy is the one who calls himself a Turk")

no, because thanks to treatment in the former ottoman empire, they were all reduced to insignificant size. the kurds were the only group of some size left in the republic of turkey that was not turkish

I mean, at the end of the day there were only 500-750k kurds in turkey in 1923 and 15 million today. It would have been fine if they didnt allow kurds to breed so much or something. Best case scenario kurdistan should have happened but cant have it all.

the reason why circassians, bosniaks etc integrated is because they were scattered troughout the country

even today some call laz people white kurds because of how they are

if you would have put circassians or laz people in the same location as kurds and simulated the same population growth, the same would have happened

I'm about this subject, but don't you think that being"uprooted" helped in this? these were dispersed populations, often with a homeland outside the republic, like the babylonian jews of the old testament

the kurds on the other hand were a group still inhabiting the homeland

it's like the jews and israel: when in diaspora, worst they do is usery, but when they are in israel, they become very violent

not to mention that those groups have in some cases assimilated our of existance

>The spokesman for the US military operation against ISIS made a comment in a Wednesday press briefing in Baghdad that helps justify Russia's continued attacks on Syria's largest city in the midst of a truce.

>As Middle East analyst Kyle Orton noted on Twitter, Warren came "pretty close" to saying that the coalition supports Russia's airstrikes in the city. Those strikes, however, are aimed at degrading any and all opposition to Bashar Assad — the embattled Syrian president who the Obama administration has repeatedly insisted "has to go."

>Emile Hokayem, an expert on Syria and a Middle East analyst at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, seemed surprised by Warren's comments. "Does the US military really believe that Nusra 'holds Aleppo'?" Hokayem tweeted on Friday. "Did Warren misspeak?"

I am increasingly convinced that Ivan Sidorenko couldn't have meant anything except this. Hassan Ridha also had the story pinned, so he must feel this is important.

Actual Title: In Damascus, an Uneasy Stability Boosts Syria's Assad

Alternative Title: Areas of Syria rule by Assad are relatively safe and peaceful, western journalists baffled

>In Damascus, it is easy to forget the war. The airstrikes, the ruins and starvation, sometimes only few miles away, seem distant and unseen. Since a partial cease-fire went into effect at the end of February, the mortar shells from opposition-held suburbs have all but stopped. On Saturday, the Interior Ministry said a number of mortar shells fell in two Damascus neighborhoods, including one several hundred meters from the Russian embassy. There were no reported injuries.

>"People are much more relaxed than before, we feel safer and more secure," said Maha Arnouz, a student walking with a friend through the capital's bustling Hamadiyah souk, located inside the old walled city.

>Assad controls about a third of the country, but that territory comprises most of Syria's major cities. Rebels and other armed groups, including IS and the Nusra Front, control the rest. Those areas have continued to see various degrees of fighting, and in the northern province of Aleppo, the cease-fire has all but collapsed.

>But within Assad's third, the connections have grown more stable as military gains widen the breathing room. People move easily between the capital and the Mediterranean coastal provinces of Tartous and Latakia, and roads to Homs and Palmyra to the east have become safer.

>"Summer or winter, bombs or not, it's the same here," said Iyas Ammar, as he pounded the ice cream into shape with a wooden mallet

That's not a slave market. That's women who were related to SAA members. The rebels grabbed them and put them in cages like that to deter airstrikes. Who knows what happened to them after that. Probably nothing good.

Assad should send former isis fighters to china and rebuild his country with the profits.

>The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong has accused Chinese hospitals of using the organs of executed prisoners for commercial transplantation.[32] Under Chinese law, condemned prisoners must give written consent to become organ donors, but because of this and other legal restrictions an international black market in organs and cadavers from China has developed.[33][34] In 2009, Chinese authorities acknowledged that two-thirds of organ transplants in the country could be traced back to executed prisoners

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/may/27/china-kidney-donor-shortage-crime

In China there is a severe shortage of organ donors. A million people need a kidney, but just 5,253 got one in 2011, according to the national kidney transplant registry. This gives patients a 0.5% chance each year; in the UK that chance is 43%. Kidneys are the most in-demand organs in China. Two-thirds of the 1.5 million people the health ministry say needs new organs (hearts, lungs, livers, kidneys and corneas) are waiting for a kidney.

In lieu of a public donor system, demand is met by harvesting organs from executed criminals, despite criticism from human rights advocates who question the degree of consent. In February, Huang Jiefu, a health minister, announced this system will be abolished within five years, in part because condemned prisoners' organs are more likely to carry infections. China is also being more prudent with the death penalty. About 4,000 prisoners were executed in 2011, an estimated 50% fewer than in 2007.

With dismal chances of getting a donor kidney, and high prices (kidneys cost 200,000 yuan, or £20,000, in hospitals), many patients turn to the parallel economy.

Unrelated but is using POWS as a labor force still legal under international law?
>>
>>71959024
>There are detailed rules in international law for the treatment of prisoners of war set out in the Third Geneva Convention of 1949. Most of the restrictions on civilian employment detailed above also apply to them; beyond this, the Geneva Conventions specify that POWs forced to work must be paid a wage, unless their work involves only the maintenance or administration of their place of detention. They cannot be forced to do degrading, unhealthy, or dangerous work. Military officers cannot be forced to work.
