What does that flag mean?
I've talked to a few, fucking mindless blue pills that genuinely know nothing and are only voting for her because she has a vagina. At least Bernie supporters are dimly aware of larger social issues, even if they're completely wrong. Hillary voters are cognitively barely above animals.

So why make these threads? Seriously? You are a sad, sad, lonely piece of shit. I come here to laugh and hopefully get a bit of new (and hopefully accurate) information. You come here to post retarded shit like this? Photo shop pictures of some families new born kid? What if that baby was actually black? What if they adopted it? Who gives a fuck. My white brother (who cannot have children due to germinoma - a type of brain cancer) adopted a kid last year and he happened to be mexican. Fuck you and all.

The founding fathers themselves actually agreed with that sentiment. They would be the first ones to tell you that people in the year 2016 would be better suited to solving the problems of 2016 than they would be. It's why they allowed for multiple ways to amend the constitution as would be necessary through time to ensure that it properly reflected the values of that society. If the founding fathers thought their say was the "last say", then we wouldn't have the ability to introduce amendments to the constitution. The constitution would instead be some kind of religious dogma that could never be added to or expanded.
This is a very weird misunderstanding of the founding fathers. They weren't despots/ideologues who demanded that their vision for America was the only valid one and one to never be changed. They knew the world would be vastly different in 200 years time. They fucking gave us the tools to adapt and to meet those challenges head on.
>>71094614
no. no you are not.
>>71095854
The problem is that they also knew America should never become like the rest of the world and that's a recurring theme in a their writings

This and the key is the amendment process. You can't just subvert it because it is 2016. The social contract has to be clear and not interpreted on the fly. What they wrote stands as they wrote it until changed as has been done 27 times since the constitution was first written.

>le breathing constitution meme
Where's Carl's, "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" when you need him?
The whole idea was to establish natural rights, individual liberty, private property, and, above all, LIMITED FUCKING GOVERNMENT.
There is a reason they made it the most ridiculous process in the world to amend the Constitution.
>... that it properly reflected the values of that society
Social justice faggot loser. I don't give a fuck if the "values of society" are to prop Aryan, white, blue-eyed men up on a pedestal and subsidize their children. The whole idea is INDEED values and the idea of "social justice" changes as well. This is why we need something to protect AGAINST these changed by protecting everyone's individual rights no matter how minority or disenfranchised.
>who demanded that their vision for America was the only valid one and one to never be changed...
That's right they put the Bill of Rights in there, right? To protect against such things. Not to meme but does, "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" sound familiar? They did not want this to be changed. Also, don't use the faggot ignorant "lel they didn't know technology would happen". Literally every day new things were being invented. In fact, Ben Franklin, one of those founding fathers, was on of those innovators and inventors!
>They fucking gave us the tools to adapt and to meet those challenges head on.
"Socialism is okay as long as it's democratic and we have the tools to change it! xD"
Please, just stop. I know your senior high school government class might have been "enlightening for you" but stop pushing your government subsidized public school understanding of what history is and what the Constitution means.

You wrote a really long strawman about socialism, social justice and a bunch of other random dumb shit I never talked about/argued for. Congrats on getting yourself worked up over an imaginary boogeyman.
I'll respond by simply restating my point: multiple ways exist to amend the constitution for a reason. Madison and the other founding fathers did not think the constitution as it was would be the "final say" on civil society for millennia or eons to come. The founding fathers were not dogmatic ideologues.
>>71094792
Good American
>>71099904
Here's where you went wrong.
You're trying to talk some sense into someone that basically told you through their comment that their a giant faggot that doesn't understand the constitution.
What you should do instead is ignore his post and instead follow up with a bullet in his brain for trying to subvert the constitution because lel 2016
>>71094129
If you rub out their face with Photoshop they look exactly like big turds.
>>71100587
>If I just restate my point and completely ignore any points put forward by the opposing side, I WIN! xD
Just because they put provisions in to amend the Constitution doesn't mean they didn't have a collective of shared beliefs (natural rights, private property, individual liberty, etc.) None would ever trade in any of those for something as stupid as a gibsmedat program.
>inb4 general welfare clause

>doesn't mean they didn't have a collective of shared beliefs (natural rights, private property, individual liberty, etc.)
I agree, and I never said anything to the contrary. What I'm saying is that they were not dogmatic in their approach to governance. The founding fathers were very practical men and knew that future generations would have to respond to the issues of their time. That doesn't mean abandoning the principles they laid out. That just means that you allow for a process to exist, like the amendment process, which gives civil society a tool to ensure that the constitution remained a just and relevant "covenant" between the people and their government, so to speak.
When I said changing values, it triggered you because you visit /pol/ and think when I say the words "values" I mean social justice. But these words had actual meaning before this hyperbolic political discourse perverted them. So as an example of the changing values that needed to be reflected in our constitution, let's look at the following:
In James Madison's time,
1. Slavery was legal.
2. Women were not given the right vote.
These were not objectionable at the time, but obviously became severely out of line with the values of our society as time went on. And this is just a natural process. So the 13th and 19th amendments came about.
Particularly noteworthy is that these new amendments aren't in contradiction of the principles laid out in the constitution. It's not like we were completely abandoning our principles by adopting them. We decided that liberty applied to ALL people, even blacks, and that voting rights applied to ALL people, even women. If James Madison had been around for those two amendments, I can almost guarantee you he would have thought that that was the right course of action to take.
Because a constitution that did not have the ability to respond to and address the issues of the day would quickly become irrelevant and, quite frankly, unjust.
