I`m Swiss and i am proud of the achievement of the tunnel being built, i didn`t watch the ceremony, i only saw some of it on Youtube but from what i saw i thought it was a lot of rubbish and didn`t represent Swiss culture at all. The only thing i recognised was the Alphorns and the Alphorn players. This whole enterainment thing, if you can call it that, was directed by a German director by the name of Volker Hesse, and only God knows what drugs he was on to produce this total load of garbage. I was quite embarassed seeing this on Youtube, some of my friends said the same thing, they turned their tvs off. Surely whoever organised the entertainment could have come up with something more normal. The tunnel being built was a huge achievement for the country, the main purpose is to take trucks off the road and put them on rail transport, the whole tunnel took 17 years to complete, cost 24 billion francs. A lot is owed to the people who worked on the project, and it is a shame to finish construction and then someone produces a stupid ceremony like the one that occurred.
