There have been morons in every generation.
But the idea that young people (teens and early 20s) don't understand technology as well as the generations before them (late 20s to 50s) has some credence.
I'm 31. Most guys my age can find their way around an operating system. Can open up their desktop computer and replace components. They understand the basic concepts behind how a lot of the technology around them works.
I can't say the same for the younger group. The technology they use, particularly phones, have been so streamlined that the user never has any reason to learn anything about the device more than turning it on, taking a picture, sending a shitpost, or playing game.
Sometimes I've spoken to younger men and asked about the specifications of their devices and they're clueless. Don't even know the screen resolution.
