Why can't you guys carry tiny locking knives?

Also, what happens if you get caught by the police with pic related?
>>
I thought it was just long knives that were the problem.

Did they ban short knives, too?
>>
>>75200585

They can carry a slip joint under 3 inches long (like a Swiss Army knife)... But they can't carry any knife with a locking mechanism, no matter how small.

if you have a legitimate reason to carry the knife (say, as a utility knife) they might give you a lecture on knife law and let you off but otherwise not much, maybe confiscate it at most

but I mean at that point they'll have to have to have had a valid reason to stop you, and to search you, and that shit just doesn't happen enough to warrant crying about restrictive weapon laws

Folding pocket knives aren't "weapons"... they're tools.

Everything can be a weapon.
>>
>>75201372

I didn't say they were weapons, just that you need a legitimate reason to have them on your person, but I was mistaken and that relates to large knives (like, a chef might carry a set of chefs knives) and not the small 3 inch blade type knives

so, really, for a 3 inch locking blade, no you're probably not going to get in any serious trouble, they're technically against the letter of the law but uk police tend to go with the spirit of the law and can generally act with discretion (but to reiterate, for them to even know you have a knife would involve them having a valid reason to search you and that isn't a situation that happens often if at all)

I miss my butterfly knife.

I'd say something smarmy here, but life has already fucked you harder than anything I could ever write.

Does all steak in the UK come precut in bite size pieces?
>>
>>75200435
This actually would be illegal in Germany, because of the hole that makes it easily openable with one hand using the thumb.
Locking folding-knives need to be opened with 2 hands and have to be below 12cm in lenght.

in america there are knives with a hook in the blade that lets you open the knife with the lip of your pocket as you take it out. you think those would be legal?

Well good. The country is a lot safer for it. You don't hear about police and gangbangers shooting up people like you do every day in America.

I don't know, but I bet they don't throw you in prison, if they didn't shoot you first, for 3 years where you'll potentially get raped and won't be able to find a job when you get out because you'll have a record that follows you for life.
