Clinton, who wants to import thousands of Syrian refugees, told reporters in Reno that it would look bad not to let in Syrian refugees, and that might inflame Muslims against law enforcement.

“If you’re in law enforcement, … you want the people in the communities that you are looking to get information from to feel like they want to help you,” Clinton said at a Nevada roundtable. “And if the message from people who are running for president, for example, is that we don’t want to take any Muslims whatsoever, that’s not good for law enforcement.”

“Let’s not be casting this broad, negative rejection of everybody who might be Muslim. That is not smart to protect ourselves. And I want people to understand — that is a law enforcement issue,” Clinton added.

Ever since we've had flags on /pol/ I've seen people from all over the world typing passable English to express complex thoughts. Yet only about 1% of the natives in my country can speak another language to that level. How come third-worlders from places like Estonia, Germany, USA, even Russia can speak such good English? Are you mostly self-taught from watching TV? When I've traveled through Europe, I rarely met people who could speak English well enough to have complex conversations with. Is it a proxy thing or what?

Looking to feel out /pol/s opinion on this. Primarily directed at Americans, but Europeans, your input is appreciated. Just throwing my opinion against the wall and seeing what you think. How would you feel about letting Syrian refugees in on 3 conditions.
>1. Absolutely no military-aged males under any circumstance (using the U.S. military ages 17-35)
>2. Families with children, especially young ones, get precedence
>3. They are interned in refugee camps, and not allowed to leave. Children may attend school on the camp, which will employ American citizen new college-graduates with teaching degrees to offer them experience. Adults are allowed to leave to work in the area, but most return within a reasonable time after. Absence from work, while reporting to the camp you've been at work, will result in immediate deportation.

On here and various other boards, the topic comes up regarding users interest to form a new independent community with land and resources. I was thinking about this on the bus today, and there actually seems a way this is realistically possible in 3 complicated steps.

1. Organize a project team of wealthy investors who will fund the process of claiming the land, develop and ultimately live on it, as well as expert attorneys to deal with the politics (next post).

2. Make an arrangement with a viable separatist movement: We create a new organization for the movement which absorbs the existing ones, and negotiate their independence through peaceful diplomatic processes, under condition that we will be granted a specific piece(s) of their land as our own. Successor states to vast and diverse island colonies such as Indonesia and Philippines are one place you are likely to find such things other than in Africa.

3. Arrange for simultaneous independence and UN recognition of the new independent state whose case we funded, and our own. If having a fully sovereign nation is still not possible, or not desired, there are plenty of other less risky arrangements: Annexation by the United States and become a self-governing commonwealth, Compact of Free Association with USA or other existing country, where they are allowed to build military bases in exchange for protection and other benefits, or simply a privately governed island/city, micro-nation, special administrative region, or autonomous enclave within the newly independent parent nation.

There have been attempts to simply purchase sovereignty of land from poor countries and territories, but it never worked, but emerging along with a newly independent state is something that just might work. What do you think? Not that I actually have the means or the will to do this, just considering if its even possible.
