But the oil is expensive to take out and the real estate is mostly from foreign investors, driving up prices and making it difficult for young Canadians to actually buy a house. Especially since immigration here is very high but also tightly vetted - meaning a lot of immigrants are quite wealthy thus driving the price of land and pricing many people already here out of it. It's garbage and not a single politician will talk about it. The mining companies here are world class though, from what I've read.
