The new Austrian socialist chancellor is trying to fuck over the Austrian population.
The Austrian government has introduced a limit of 37,500 asylum seekers this year (which is massive, per capita that is the equivalent of 1.5 million asylum seekers in the US) earlier this year. This year, already 22,000 asylum seekers have arrived until end of April (and about 26,000 until end of May).
In order to keep the flow of migrants up to Austria, the new socialist chancellor has now said the actual number of people who should be counted to the 37,500 limit should exclude "family reunifactions", "kids born after the migrants arrived", "people who are supposed to actually apply for asylum in Italy, Greece, Bulgaria or Hungary under Dublin III, even if they are still cared for by Austria" and "all economic migrants who do not get asylum, but still have to be cared for because they cannot be deported."
Or in other words, the number of "counted" asylum seekers has just been reduced to 11,000 with a stroke of a pen from an actual number of 26,000 this year.
