This is why Paul Ryan is giving Republicans the option of a conscience vote, which is his way of saying he won't stop the obstructing Trump in the national convention in Cleveland, if that's what they want to do. I think Republicans now are considering dissociating from Trump so they can focus on other races and so that in one or two years time they don't need to deal with being associated with a political loser and liability. Anyone who backs Trump really hard now will have to deal with that as a stain on their political record for years into the future. It'll be like being a Walter Mondale supporter.
