So, I consider myself a white nationalist. My boyfriend is very liberal. He has said many times that he can't wait for all the races to mix together because then people would have one less thing to fight about. He thinks white nationalism, or any type of racial nationalism for that matter, is extremely stupid. He has said that he would break up with me if I supported it in any way. (eg. donations, flyers, going to a rally, etc.) He wants it to be nothing more than just a thought in my head.
We have dealt with our differences so far by just... trying to avoid the conversation. Recently though, I had a kind of epiphany. I feel like I would not be respecting myself to continue being in a relationship with someone who wants the white race to go extinct, wants me to do nothing to stop it, and thinks I'm dumb for wanting to preserve it. It's not that I want to dedicate my life to white nationalism. I have other things I want to do in life. I just don't see how I could preserve my self respect if I agree to be in a relationship with someone who thinks these things. I told him this, and he got extremely angry. I currently have a great career. He said he would tell people at my work and get me fired. He said he would tell my parents, my old teachers, his friends etc. When things cooled down he said "I wouldn't do that". But then we had another argument recently, I told him we need to break up, and he again said that's what he would do if i broke up with him.
His main concern is that he's worried about all the suffering a white nationalist government could cause if it got into power. I suppose if it started mass deporting non-whites, plenty of people would resist and be killed. So he wonders how I can morally justify supporting the movement. I admit, I haven't given him a good answer to that question because it's not a question that has ever seriously concerned me. That is a scenario that seems so far fetched in a society where whites are shamed for "microaggressions".
