At the risk of sounding edgy, what do you think about how most humans, at least in the west, mostly the ones with better social status, have become too weak? I'm not talking about being physically weak, but mentally. By living lives that are too easy and not experiencing much violence or death we have grown unaccustomed to it and most can't really stand being exposed to either. Also, I believe the empathy we feel towards others (not close family) and even animals sometimes can be more prejudicial than anything.
Now, I might be talking out of my ass, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case a couple of centuries ago, and only differs more as you go further back in time.
So, what I want to know is, in the long run, do you think this has been good or does it just bring us more harm than good? Wouldn't it be better if we just didn't give as many fucks as we do? Perhaps there would be more suffering, but then again, we wouldn't care as much. I'm really torn here, what do you think, pol?
