When I was a broke university student I spent $100 and got 3 prints from a photographer that used to post on a forum I frequented years ago. His car broke down when he was on a roadtrip and posted a thread asking for donations with the promise of sending prints when he got back on his feet. Eventually I got 3 beautiful signed prints in the mail from the story he was shooting on the buffalo cull in Yellowstone. He's gone on to become a pretty successful editorial photographer from what I've seen. Doing a Polaroid series of celebrities and a number of assignments for big magazines.

Can you estimate the % of photographers whose work goes on to become sellable? I can't imagine it would be more than 1/1000
I'd love to spend about $10k on a couple dozen photographers coming (goddamn I would have made almost as much money from hido as i would have from bitcoin)
I'd love to even break even after a decade or so, just to have the work in my place
