Let's do something productive for once, ya lazy fucks.

Post a photo you want critiqued, and critique at least one photo above yours (more is better!). Ideally critique at least 3 or 4.

Ignore anyone who posts a photo without contributing.

when she's 50 and looks back at these, what is it going to remind of, relative to her high school experience. I think the one with the pom is the only one that will remind her anything about her time in HS.

Color balance, and other technical stuff came out looking alright. I dont see why you needed to be at 1/2000 of a second, if you're shooting manual. Camera settings aside, the editing looks okay, not much better than that though. Mediocre at best. Im sure she'll be happy with them though, they dont look like complete shit, just a little bit sort of like shit.

The idea of this is contrived as fuck, but if i were to do anything different, maybe i would put Jesus in focus and leave her out, make it even more anonymous, maybe neither of them in fovus. Maybe move right and put the cross higher above her and more demanding in the frame, the idea of christianity and the power of god is the theme no?

It's a graduation gown of some sort. Would be a pretty retarded graduation photo without it I'd say.
>>
>>2859500
Solid photo, but the edges of the silhouette look partially out of focus. Bothers my eyes to stare at it for too long.
>>
>>2859500
I like. I enjoy that its abstracted. Can't really tell what i'm looking at. I with the whites were brighter and that the silhouette was more defined against the background. That grey is too dark for the figure to really pop. should have higher contrast, actually. I don't mind that her legs are out of focus. I also think the composition isn't as strong as it could be. The border is superfluous. I'm not a fan of that white blip off to the side. Some cropping would be a big benefit.

I think the picture is technically good, but I would have loved some more contrast in the background, her skin tone melts right in with the browning grass.

>>2859361
I like the picture, composition, and the subject isn't bad looking, but there's nothing to distinguish this photo from a million other generic bar portraits. I guess it depends on what you're using this photo for, but it isn't winning any creativity contests.

>>2859474
Over vignetted, the haloing around that telephone pole looks pretty bad, a weird gritty texture across the trees even though they aren't sharp. The subject is briefly interesting, but the train tracks obviously lead your eyes nowhere, and once you move back to the house, you see there really isn't too much left. Distractions like the random yellow plant, the orange gas marker, and the overdone PP don't help.

>>2859479
The background is far more interesting than the silhouette. When you add a person to a shot, make sure you have a reason. In this photo it does add to the balance and composition but the whole thing seems to be conflicted about what it wants to show me. Putting the statue into the first rule of thirds cross would have made for a more pleasing picture.

>>2859500
I think it's cool. Any reason you didn't crop it a bit closer?

>>2862192
Highlights are a bit bright, not much to look at. She's pretty but that isn't very useful for a photo. Do something more interesting with the horizon line. Lower it while you're there or crop it out entirely in post.

I really liked how my snapshit came out a week ago but now I hate the highlights and don't know what to do for it in post-processing. I still need to turn this image in for an assignment, but I don't know where to go for PP anymore. Bottom pic is my edit. C&C appreciated.

All check-list and no emotion. Eyes can look up a bit without being ridiculous. Pointing out highlights on her leg without pointing out how wide and out of proportion the pose makes her look is ridiculous. Saying the camera should be lower, while also saying it should be framed lower, means you no longer have the girl in the photo at all.
>>
>>2864430
not necessarily
try taking a picture from waist level instead of standing over the model
alternatively, kneel down and meet her eye level
>not that hard to figure out
>>
>>2864515
If you lower the camera, the background is more prominent in the frame.

Another point was to remove the horizon from the shot.

They can not be applied together.

The idea is really good, but the fact that the girl is black underexposed makes her an obstacle, and an obstacle should not be in focus

You should have done it in a way that we see at least some small details of that girl, the background would have been overexposed but that wouldn't have been a problem, since it is out of focus we're not supposed to mind it

The PP is already good on this one. The highlights creates an interesting contrast, and without them, with a perfect light, the pic would just be an informative pic, telling "look, this is a tunnel", which I guess is not the point here

Think I could make it better in PP or with Photoshop?

As for your pick, I don't really know what to say is it lacks of a subject, of light (everything is gray, if you made it B&W in PP you could take a bit more time asking yourself what colors need to be bright or not and why)

-coloring is way too blue.
-composition is to cramped, the bridge is so close to the edge
-subject is boring and overdone
-straighten

depth of field is too shallow, their bodyparts are variously in and out of focus. too much memebokeh

The apeture could of been smaller, something to diffuse the light would of been good to keep her dress from being blown out, and his face.

Outside that I like.

>>2866645
Lower to the ground angled slightly up, I think would of been better composition for this.

Glamour/Pinup photographer here.

That hat and glasses combo is distracting, why do you have a root in the foreground (bottom right). Does you model have a phone in his pocket? Could he not keep that in his bag while the shoot was on?

Please resize.

There is no subject here.

Just some garden in the rain.

>>2866764
They wanted to keep the hat and glasses on. It was first shoot with them. I let them style themselves. I do that so they can get comfortable with me.

Being a trans woman shooting glamour of guys, I kinda have to do that to get guys feeling better and not like Im trying to be creepy with them. Now he's okay with doing nude with me. So woot :P

No phone in his pocket simple jeans worn out there.

It isn't a root but will agree a little more over and I could of got it out of the composition

Everything looks like the same tone of dark green. Needs more color variation. And get rid of the fucking slenderman you troll!

>>2865019
Very generic.
Flat lighting, flat color (too cold anr grey), too dark.
Driveway-tier location, get somewhere more interesting.
Look at Jose Villa, the colors are pastel, but distinct, and always a tad warm

>>2865208
Correct blueness, make it look like the sun is setting, and not like it has already set. Up the color saturation and variation on the sky. Edit out the yellow signs, they are distracting. Add more contrast, but adjust the blacks to keep the dynamic range.

>>2866643
This should have heavy contrast imo, but not this fucking heavy jesus christ!

>>2866645
colors look like slide film with processing errors, a bit unnatural.

>>2866738
>/hm/
Emphasize more on the contrast between the backlight and the shadows. Let more of the backlight bleed into the picture.
>>
>>2866960
That green tone would naturally be like that because of how dark he's made the image with heavy shadows, if it were brighter there would be more green tones.
