I'm still new to editing, so the colour might seem a little strong. I don't have an editing style, I just play with sliders until I get bored. Usually just gamma colour correction vibrancy and sharpening. I guess I was pushing the magenta slider quite far to be fair. Editing on a laptop screen doesn't help much either as the colour changes every time I move my head!

I've stopped editing on my laptop for exactly this reason. I invested in a really nice monitor for my desktop and made a color profile for it and use that for each of my edits.
there are tons of different ways to color correct and everyone will argue their way of doing things is the only way but I've found success with the following:
unless conditions are extremely unfavorable, shoot RAW and with auto white balance on. in your raw editor of choice select the profile (daylight, cloudy, shade, etc)
then in Photoshop create a levels layer and for each channel individually (red green and blue), drag the high or low slider in towards the bulk of the histogram. there are some good video tutorials on layer masks in general but the color correction ones definitely made a difference in my editing.

very nice, but what's really important is the shot and thats a great shot:
it's exposed well, the comp is pretty good and to me personally, it's interesting. that's all that matters, pp is a whole skillset in and of itself and as long as you're shooting RAW, you can apply your future knowledge to years old shots, something I do regularly. cheers and keep up the good work
