Pretty good. Just a personal preference but I don't like when images are composed so the horizon is around the middle. I prefer it to be lower. I'd rather look at the sky than the ground. But yours works quite well either way. You could also crop a bit of the left side of the image, so the line of dirt would be in the middle of the image, sort of. I just did it with my hand on the screen and I feel it improved the image.

If they notice you taking photos of them, just smile and wave a gesture like 'yeah just carry on what you're doing'. Most people will like it and won't mind at all. Not perfectly vertical, amateur. In your case you are too close to your subject to make it perfectly vertical, you have to leave the building a little bit of perspective, otherwise it feels flat. This is something you can see on /p/ over and over again. Study more concepts of architects to see what I mean.
Ok so after two days exploring llanberis quarry and the abandoned RAF base in Wales I took about 1k photos. This is one of them. I'd like to point out that this is an almost identical copy of another photo I saw on the internet so cant take any credit for it really.

I did try a graduated filter on the sky but I couldn't get it to turn out in a way that looked good so I opted to for a lower exposure and tried to bring up the darks.
Good call on the warmer color, I was debating that as well.
are you suggesting blending two photos together that are shot 20 minutes apart? I've never heard of doing such a thing.
In any case it wasn't really an option as I was taking the picture on a fairly busy bridge that is really narrow.

That was a good suggestion, I tried to bring out the edges of the mountains a bit more. I really tried to massage the sky with some dodging and burning to get some detail, but it was a really gray featureless sky and there's not much there.
It's 8 vertical photos stitched in one row, I probably didn't really need 8 but I overlapped them a lot to be safe because I'm new to this stuff.

Pan F+ tends to be really contrasty but I am always surprised by how much latitude I have in Lightroom with a decent scan. There is a tonality in b/w film that draws me in.

Sure, I'd be happy to share! I recently picked up the Mamiya 7II as a way to get into 6x7 so I have just been shooting a few test rolls of Delta 100 and Pan F+ recently to see what I could get out of it. I develop at home with Ilfosol 3 or Ilfotec DDX for their normal times. Then once the film is dry I use an Epson V600 and scan the images in at 3200 DPI or 4800 DPI (881 meg files blegh) and import them into Lightroom for editing. Most of my edits are pretty basic, a bit of clarity and contrast when needed, basic curves adjustments and I convert the scan from RGB to grayscale before I sharpen it a bit and export it. Honestly they look really great out of camera and it just makes me wish I had a drum scanner since the Mamiya 7 glass has detail for days.

An out of focus backside of a human being throws a stone in the water. Well!
That's what I figured out after looking at the image for about 15 seconds, which is quite a long time to look at an image and get what it's about.
Here's the deal: There's SO much empty space and background in this image.
You should have composed this in a way so that the splashes in the water are the center of attention and direct the viewer toward them. Instead, what takes the attention is the out of focus back of the guy throwing the stone, which is the point of greatest contrast. Then there's the HUGE lake of corse.
Compared to these two elements, the splashes in the water, which is what WOULD give the picture a dynamic element disappear in an uninteresting part of the frame, they are absoulutely TINY!
Go for a different framing and get everything in focus next time.
Think about what is important, how big you want it to be in the frame and what you want the viewer to see first.
You can use all kinds of compositional techniques to direct the viewer's eye, which is all a photographer has to do, besides finding interesting subjects.

I did it in lightroom, it's all automated. I also tried Microsoft ICE since I heard it was supposed to be good, but the results seemed identical in this case so I just stuck with LR since it was more convenient. I shot the photos in M mode with all the settings fixed and then I combined them into an auto-synchronized stack in LR, then did the stitching and postprocessed the single full stitched image. It was pretty painless, actually.

Do you understand that I'm not saying HDR is necessarily bad? I'm saying that just because it exists doesn't mean that you should try to use it every single time even when it is completely unnecessary. Sure that photo of the capitol dome looks fine, that doesn't mean that every single photo taken indoors always has to be made with HDR composites of 12 different exposures in order to have a hundred stops of dynamic range.

If you have an autofocus lens use and autofocus body and if you have a manual lens use a manual focus body. Sure you can mix and match and it works fine but you're just giving yourself more trouble and not using the lenses or the cameras the way that they are best suited to be used. Get an F100.

Got a bunch of group chats from people freaking out about a double rainbow over our town. Took my camera to the door to go look out and from my house could only see a tiny bit. The sky was super weird and yellow though as it had just stormed. I watched for a few minutes and as the sun started to set it started to get redder and redder.
