It took me way too long to figure that out. Have you tried the CC export? It's supposed to replace Save for Web, but it doesn't look like you can keep EXIF and the load time is like 30s for me.

Forgot the conclusion: all in all it isn't that bad, look a the first two and figure out what works there, try to apply it to the second set 3 and 4. Those close subjects with thin DoF don't really work because there's no depth behind them, or no subject in the mess of bokeh. Second set number 2 would work with a person leaning on the fence or standing behind it.

Only to a certain point, and on certain lenses.
For instance, if you have a 24mm equivalent lens on your camera, and you're focusing 12 feet away, you'll have more or less the entire scene in focus at f/5.6, and stopping down more doesn't do much other than start bringing in diffraction.
Unless you're trying to leave motion blur in your shot, there's no such thing as "too fast of a shutter speed" so f/5.6 and 1/4000 will be just fine.

No I actually like it. I try to get this kind of shot from time to time and sometimes it works for me. I like the soft rendering of the bokeh and even though the subject isn't super interesting the image catches my eye more than most in this thread because it has some decent color.
