Hey /p/ is there any better way to align a wide angle shot other than rule of thirds? I'm not quite satisfied with this shot I took in National Cathedral it seems off somehow...

Its off because the perspective isn't symmetrical. You should have took the photo in the center of the aisle.

It costed $11 just to walk around a boring cathedral so I def also got pic in center of aisle.

Just wish you never cut the seats off at the bottom. Other than that good work anonster
>>2822644
wide angle is tricky, like >>2823397 said, the seats are kind of a leading line and cutting it off is a little disappointing.
for me rule of thirds was just a guideline for [ dont line photos up in the middle].
wide angle is meant to get up close, really close. but this photo was shot in 50mm, not too wide, thats more of a close up portrate lens, wide imo would be 35mm and smaller. since you are just trying to get everything inand document your visit with no real subject, this photo is just fine...
>pic related, wider angle, this picture is of a bonanza tree, was only a few inches away from the tree. singular small subject, unique angle, wide angle. like or hate the photo this is just imo how wide angles should be used, unless like i said, you are just trying to get everything in for documentation reasons...

First pic was Canon FD 50mm and the second is a view from a spherical panorama. I love that bonanza pic it is tack sharp.
>>2823476
I did take 9 shots on my 50mm and then photomerged it for higher resolution tho so its technically a wider angle shot.
>>2822644
Sounds like you need a Tilt Shift Lens anon. I hope you've got a fuckton of savings.
>>2823915
nah all i need is some kinda manfrotto tripod thingy. Indoor panos are too hard to take a good nadir shot by eye but sometimes it works.
