Start with subjects that are actually interesting. You can't frame a dumpster and make it that interesting beyond a snapshit.
>>2803590
You had a decent idea but the execution wasn't that good. Try backing up a bit from the rock, have the rock and lake in focus, push down any grass in the way.
That being said it's still not a wondeful shot because the lake isn't that pretty (especially on an overcast day) and the rocks aren't in any kind of pattern or anything that's visually impressive or interesting.
Try to look for patterns, shoot during interesting times of the day, etc.

its not a dumpster its an electrical box. thanks anyway for the crit though

Eew is that a dead fox? Where do you live?
It's out of focus, it's hard to shoot at 1 second completely still. You might want to get a small tripod, like the gorillapod style ones that you can put in your pocket.
>>2803611
Actually it's not out of focus, it's just blurry from the shutter time.
>>2803611
i live in Dublin i can show you around through my photography if you want. yes, i will get a gorilla tripod.

This is actually one of the better ones to me, because of the pattern of the carts, it leads you into the store.
Might wants to pick up a composition book as well as a book about exposure.
I recommend Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson as well as Learning to See Creatively by the same.

Typical American ...
>>2803635
What?
>>2803598
my man this would be good advice if he was asking in general. he's asking specifically about framing, and you CAN improve framing on non-interesting subjects.
>>2803598
>Try to look for patterns, shoot during interesting times of the day, etc.
Yeah, this. Definitely.
Shorthand rule is to position yourself to make angular (triangle) shapes with the environmental subjects, making like a half-ass depth of field. And just keep doing that until you've got more experience with framing subjects.
Since your in Dublin, start a photo journal of graffiti. It'll make you seem "adventurous" to cloistered yuppies, and "credible" to rich hipsters.
>>2803598
Go to Dublin's chinatown. There are a bunch of interesting folks around there. It was my favorite part of town when I lived there.

I'm having a similar problem
what do you think of my framing
