Vintage gear thread
Show me that Nazi glass
I own one of these. Mine is kind of dusty though. It's been sitting on a shelf for decades. I should clean it and see if it still functions... It takes 120 film so that won't be a problem.
Zeiss Ikon Box Camera, 1933 Vintage. 30€ on eBay, really good, just that darn fungus...
I have this thing. The body and lens are in great shape, sadly the gigantic cloth FP shutter is shredded. It's from somewhere around 1900, maybe even earlier.

This action finder is fucking cool, it's actually a two-element lens with no barrel.

That's some ansel adams shit
Kodak Reflex, my most recent camera purchase.
Kodak model 1a autographic jr
it takes 116 format which has been discontinued since the 80s. found some very expired stuff on ebay and only like 2 shots came out decent.
also got these 3d printed adapters so it could take 120 but it was deemed an absolute failure as the adapters broke on the first spool of 120 rendering that whole spool useless
so it to me remains shelf decor but i will keep my eyes out for 116 and take full advantage of the moment if i do see it

stacks of washers glued together work fine if you want to shim a roll of 120 in there
Found this Nettar 516 from a flea market for lel 1.5€. I love how it's actually pocketable when folded up, nowadays I keep it in the camera bag's side pocket just about anywhere I go. I just need to devise the means to scan 120 because the labs have me pay through the ass for it.
I'm also somewhat intrigued by the box cameras, our flea markets have piles of them lying around and they cost nothing since the shopkeepers just want to get rid of them, but can't be assed to sell online.

did you get that keyboard at a flea market as well? geez.
>>2802544
What lens is that?
Belca Beltica with 50mm f2.8 Zeiss. 35mm film and it's a lovely pocket size when folded so I actually take it with me from time to time.
8€ on a flea market.
Found this at a flea market last week.
Schneider-Kreuznach 135mm f/4.5, 9x12cm film plates, from 1927
Everything works except the shutter timer, which runs slow-motion for some reason (the shutter curtain itself works normally). I'll try oiling the timer some time, but for now I can use it for night photography and with an ND filter during the day.
These camears take sheet film in the respective sizes, just leave a glass plate in the film holder when you put it in so the focal distance is right.
The guy initially wanted 80€ for it, but I scored a deal and got it for 40 + a free film holder.
Time to grab my fomapan and feel like Ansel Adams

Zeiss Jena Flektogon 50.
It's a remarkable lens because it opens up to only f/4, but it's so fuckhuge that it's about as fast as an f/2

Does this lens have an internal shutter? How does one use a leaf shutter lens with a dslr?
>>2805926
Why wouldn't it work?
I've taken all kinds of vintage lenses, welded them to a simple ring adapter, and used them directly on my DSLR.
>>2805932
In my mind the problem arises because you now have two shutters, one in the lens one in the body. Do you just set the aperture on the lens and use it like any other vintage lens?
>>2805923
That's a MF 6x6 lens anon. It's f/4 for the pentacon six it was made for. You're a literal cropbabby, even on digital FF.
>>2805923
>but it's so fuckhuge that it's about as fast as an f/2
No it literally isn't...
Unless... is that a speed booster adapter?
>>2805981
What the fuck does this even mean?
Has shitposting evolved to such a degree that it has diverged into a new language?
>>2806022
Which part is the confusing part?
It's a medium format lens
Made for 6x6
It's f/4, and is meant to be mounted to a Pentacon Six camera
You're cropping the lens by using it on a smaller format (Digital full frame)
>>2806023
Why would it matter in the slightest that I'm cropping it? It still makes full utilization of the camera body that I have available, and cropping the image circle will reduce both physical distortion and vignetting.
>>2806049
im replying only to see what ridiculous name will this post give me. youre retarded as fuck btw.
>>2806049
It's part of the board culture you stupid outsider fuck. You come to 4chan and post on a board completely oblivious of its etiquette like it's your first day on the website and offend someone for not understanding them.
The stupid fuck bit, though, is because with that setup you've effectively achieved (>>2805923
) the exact same effect as in pic related, if not worse because the pancake 50mm Industar is F/3.5. Literal lel. I'm not undermining your unusual and cool/outlandish use of a MF wide angle in this manner but the overkill and contrast with getting the same lens speed and focal with a $5 russian tessar is hilarious.

f number fags need to think past theoretical aperature values and consider the physical characteristics of their lenses.
>>2806118
Your entire post is so wrong and stupid that the literally worst thing I can do is not point out the ridiculous fallacy and let you remain ignorant. Keep on posting in /p/ fucktard, I'll always enjoy the occasional kek.

It's always fun when a single board encompasses both the purely technical and physical and the "artistic" sides of a subject as broad as photography, because we get people like you genuinely unironically thinking they're right on a subject. It really is a constant source of amusement. You won, kid, you're right and I'm wrong :^)

Look at your calendar, friend. It's okay. Join us in the "we know it's a joke so it's okay" circle.
Picked this up at a thrift shop, looks like its near perfect as far as i can tell
Is it possible to get film that fits it? i'd like to play with it before i sell it.

620 film is basically the same as 120 you can find anywhere, the only difference is the spool dimensions. To fit 120 into a 620-using camera you have to either trim the 120 spool down in size or wind the film onto a 620 spool.
