I shot this wiht my dads 7D while we where on a walk in the forest. Ive decieded to get my own camera for uni and im looking at a 50d or 6(50)D. My dad has taught me some stuff so i know some photography so whats the best for my first own dslr?

Really, lots of stuff on the fine side is deprecated as well, but at least they operate acceptably, have enough pickles and can be used at 800 ISO.

I've owned the Canon 50D for two years (my first dSLR; just upgraded to a 5D Mk II a few days ago) and it's amazing for photography. If you're just going into this for photography I would suggest the 50D since the body is nearly all metal so you can be abusive without worrying about it, feels amazing in the hands, 6.9 fps(?), and other great features.
But if you want to shoot video, I would suggest the other camera you're looking at since the 50D doesn't shoot it naively (you need Magic Lantern plus an off camera mic).
That's just my opinion.

I'm not regretting that I bought a 700D but the noise while filing video is heavily present even when filming with an ISO of 100. The noise is my only complaint about it.

Lol yup that's me! I'm always lurking on here, I rarely use my trip, but you used to be able to tell it was me because I'm the only one on here that I saw shooting with a Canon 50D in the exif data.
Now that I got my Canon 5D Mk II, I'm going to blend in with everyone.
The 50D is a great camera that can take the abusive almost as well as a 5D could, just not the best for low light.
Honestly think you could get better low light shots with the original Canon 5D (which is like $350, almost the price of the 50D) but it's lacking a lot of features that you would miss.
I honestly regretted buying the 50D only because I was stupid, and should've bought the 7D which was like $50 more at the time, with more features, same all metal body, and much, much better low light performance.
So in all, I would get the Canon 7D over the 50D.

I've been very, very lucky, it also helps that a lot of artists come through Portland, OR. I literally found out I was photographing that show a few hours before, I had to cancel plans with friends to go shoot it.
