I recently found out that quite a few from LA (hey Ms Tina Louise) do this. Kinda surprised at first but a minute later, it all made so much sense.
If they're not repped by a known agency, seem to shoot non stop but are never featured in any publications or campaigns (shilling out for insta brands don't count) and look more like someone you'd see in Maxim as opposed to Vogue then chances are they're escorting.

I think as a group of people who are interested in photography, and yet aren't successful enough to be published or professional full time, /p/ understands the idea that many models may not be successful enough to be published or professional full time.

There is a very big difference between someone who has a skill they are developing, in this case photography, as a hobby or business and show off their portfolio and someone who tries to profit off of having a pretty face or body. I don't get on Instagram much and I'm unaware of any trends there, but I do know one girl who does this. I met her when she was a bartender and she definitely lived beyond a bartender's means.
