just took my minolta x700 to the flower show in philly. i have a d3200, but it just seems more fun when i use my film camera.
anyway, any tips on exposure with these things? any tips on manual focusing? critiques?
used a 50mm prime and 200 speed film, nothing special. cheap film from walgreens.

this is where they get lazy. out of 24 exposures, maybe a good half were worth bringing up. a few were terribly out of focus and a few underexposed.

Why did you post these?
They're so bad.
More importantly, why did you take them?
Even the less obviously blurry ones still aren't sharp because of the potato scans.
This is just terrible.

>Why did you post these?
for critique and help, like everyone else does

for experience

i dont develop myself. if you have some tips or a guide to doing it yourself, let me know

and also as for why i used my cheap film camera over my d3200, i find it easier to avoid overexposure with film. i dunno why, but its always an issue for me on the d3200
and also because i like the homely warm look of film, but most film fags say that so...

Don't listen to this guy, I enjoyed the photos. Thanks OP. Unfortunately I don't have much to offer in terms of critique since I don't shoot film.

I'm a sucker for this shit. Don't know what advice I can give you since my photos are worse and I probably shot more film than you. Shooting slow film in low light is hell and you did better than I would have done.
Careful with lab scans: they look nice and are much easier than scanning film yourself but they are oversharpened and corrected. It makes it hard to learn from your mistakes when they are being fixed and you can't spot them.
I think the most important thing about making good photos is picking the best ones. From the ones you posted I assume these were your best but you can still eliminate some of them.
You probably know a handful of photos from the great photographers but you never got to see the ones that didn't make it. These people spent their whole lives making thousands upon thousands of photos and they are only known for a handful of them. Picking your best shots seems easy but I think it's actually very hard to do it right and very important.
Each roll gives you the perfect amount of shots for you to see the best photos in a roll and the worse photos. Learn from each photo what you did right and what you did wrong.
Lastly I'll say that sometimes you have a good roll and sometimes you have a bad roll. Keep practicing. I notice that I get bad rolls when I don't shoot in a while. Your digital camera gives you a perfect chance to practice without going broke on film.
