I usually take at least one body/one lens from this setup with me everyday.

With a red ring painted on, yes.
(it actually has a UV filter with the glass removed attached to the front of it semi-permanently, to convert its plastic threads to metal ones so its harder to cross-thread a filter and fuck it up)

Originally had the 18-55, sold it a while back, purchased this a few months ago mostly for the wide end of it. Like it more than the 18-55 in the end.

Sig P210 - Swiss army handgun from half a century ago. Internal rails like a CZ75; the trigger looks like a 1911 but it's a top hinged pivoting trigger, not a sliding trigger. A very nice trigger to shoot though; the pistol itself will do a 2 inch group at 50 yards.

The tubes are probably more convenient than the tin too because you don't need to use your finger. Pop the lid, twist the base, apply directly to lips, twist base back, put lid back on. Under £2 per tube.

The tube is 16.8mm in diameter and 62mm in length.

Question:
Have ANY of you plens been on JapanCameraHunter?
>>
>>2784290
I used to read his blog but then he went on a massive rant on instagram @ me for suggesting someone buy an identical cheap chinese film case instead of his over priced one. Decided he was a cunt and haven't read anything he has done since.
>>
>>2784292
Did you suggest that on his blog?
Or on his Insta?
Would that not be exactly like walking into a small local store and telling all their customers that they should buy everything somewhere else, because it would be cheaper?
Would you not expect that store owner to get really pissed off at you and chase you out?
Do you not see the value in people who make an effort to contribute something to the world of camera enthusiasts being able to make some money in exchange for that?
>>
>>2784292
Tbf JCH was probably talking about the companies that are literally copying his film cases (as in they buy one of his originals, use it to make a mould, then produce identical copies). Suggesting somebody buy a counterfeit is not the same thing as suggesting somebody buy an alternative product.
>>
>>2784294
No, it was on my friend's instagram. He said he was wanting one of the japan camera hunter cases in the comments and tagged him. I suggested he get one of the chinese ones as with shipping the JCH ones are extortionate.
I have a white chinese film case and a JCH one that came with some cinestill film, they are identical.

>>2784297
I don't give a fuck if its counterfeit. It is a cheap plastic case to keep film in. Why would I pay a premium just so some smarmy bald cunt can make some money?

Here.
I'm a hobbyist that buys and sells Leicas. I've owned more than 40 Leica's and a ton of Leica glass. What I've come to the realization after a lot of shooting is yes Leica glass is amazingly sharp and has beautiful craftsmanship, but it's mainly carried as a social status. You can have the same quality photo for 1/5th of the price going with different brand glass.
If I hold up two exact photos taken from the same camera, same angle with two different brand lenses of the same focal length, there is no way you will be able to tell me which is Leica.

I'm still asking for bag recommendations. I have a lot of equipment I'd like to carry around with me, but I don't want to blow 200 dollars on some shit bag. I realise maybe it's asking a lot to be able to carry around a 4x5 stripped down. It would be nice to at least fit the medium format and a DSLR and FSLR 35mm in there at the same time instead.

/p/ can't afford leica lenses. They are good lenses but a bad deal. The price is mostly rarity and demand, not performance. You can get lenses with with almost the same performance but at a fraction of the price.

The problem is that /p/ are hobbyist who just want to have a good time taking pictures. It makes perfect sense. If all you care about is the image a 1000$+ (whatever an M6 cost) will take the same image as a 1$ camera if they are both on a tripod with a self timer.

Also:
>5% of /p/ owns leicas
>25% of /p/ who shows off their cameras owns leicas

The sensor will eventually be outdated, the electronics will eventually fail, the cost to performance ratio is way off and it won't retain it's value.

Any knife you have on you will be used on you. Unless you bench 120kg, I really doubt that you'd be able to overpower someone attempting to grab the knife right out of your hands, or holding you down while they take it out of your backpack and proceed to carve you just for thinking you could use one.

On the other hand, utility knives are handy if your daily life/job requires one.

>>
>>2784725
The other guy is an idiot, but his basic point of don't carry a knife as a weapon is correct.

The rule of thumb for weapons is that if you've never been trained how to use something, don't use it.

If you decide to carry a knife, carry one as a tool and use it as a tool. If your ass gets mugged, you leave that shit in your pocket.

If you can't afford to replace your gear, GET INSURANCE. Is cheap as shit. Hell, join the PPA if you're an American and you get insurance plus you get a magazine. Ain't no gear worth your life, and there's a good chance if your dumb ass fights a mugger over gear, you're going to die.

>at least im willing to admit that i want one because of the fact that theyre a high status camera that look amazing and have great glass.

Leica owner here.
They are pretty good at what they do, reliable and built like a tank.
There are however other rangefinders on the market that do pretty much the same things and better for cheaper. Only Leica still produces film bodies though IIRC.

>people who buy leicas because the "leica philisophy" or they think it makes them a better photographer are just full of shit
Through the lens viewfinders are better for more accurate focus, the only downside is that they're louder and more noticable compared to a mirrorless RF.

I don't understand all this goddamn angst and sour grapes about Leica. They're just cameras, they really aren't that different from anything else, but even if you do want a Leica so badly then you can easily get an M3 or even M6 for less than you probably threw away on a DSLR. Unlike with a digital camera, the film Leica will even actually be worth something and still be in demand when you get tired of it so you'll be able to sell it for at least most of what you paid for it.
>>
>>2786718
Film Leica's will likely retain their value, or even increase it. In terms of buying a camera that will be worth more in 5 or 10 years the M3 or M6 is a pretty solid bet. Fun cameras to shoot too, not really a fan of the way they load though. Loading a swing back camera can be done one handed and quite quickly. Loading a Leica means you need to find a table, take the bottom off, take the spool out etc etc. Weird and inefficient

I haven't had much to complain about with my OG X100's battery. I'd want spares for a long trip or if I were using it in a serious context, but as an everyday carry snapper, I seem to make it through a week and at least 3-400 shots without much of a dent in the battery.

how do you edit your photos on the go, vscocam on phone or do you do raw processing and printing directly from camera?

Have the same bag. Love it since it's as thin as the generic bag inserts, and fits in my regular backpack and I can access everything without taking it out.

Hard to beat for $10 too.

is this a troll pic, or are you just trying to be edgy?
>>
>>2788974
Thin? Seems pretty well padded and boxy. It can fit in a backpack but i don't know why you would since you'd be carrying two bags.

Some cheap bag that will make you look like a homo, looks alright if you're a homo/girl. Don't want to sound like a shill or anything but it's an exceptional bag.
If you don't want the fag looks get the Lowepro Event Messenger 150 which doesn't have the lunchbox looks.

Because I love my every day backpack, but it isn't designed for cameras.
>as thin as the generic bag inserts
My choices were this or some generic inserts like pic related. I don't treat it as a bag, I treat it as an insert, but it also has the advantage of in fact being a bag if really needed. The cost is less than most inserts too.

how you find using the pentax?
>>
>>2791840
>bentax k-01
mah nigga.
does it feel like a toy?
>>
>>2791844
It's a little weird not having a viewfinder, but the image quality is excellent, and it's small and light enough to carry everywhere.
Only just started using it again so I can get used to it for when I travel with work.

>>2791857
The on/off switch feels a little toy like because of the size and shape, but that's about it.
The camera is so solid and brick like, and it's quite comfortable to hold.
