I really want to take pictures of kids. I go out with my own kid and see some great potential shots every day that I can't take. In UK I don't even feel like I can take a shot that might have any children anywhere in the frame.
It's a real shame, it wasn't always like this, you can see my street in the background of pic related.
So, pics of the joy of childhood and discussion about things you can't do.

For example I would like to shoot something like this. But in UK everyone will automatically think I'm a creep.

If you take photos of naked children walking down the street? Yeah. They will.
If you put together a full on shoot with someone who's asking for this type of photo, then you will be much less creepy. But that's not a photo of children. That's a scene that INCLUDES children.

I think you captured the 'joy' with this one

awesome....
just take pictures of kids.
I was hanging out in a field today and some kids were around just spoke to them about normal things
then some other kids were sitting on a tree and it snapped and they all fell off and one kid said
"aren't you going to tell them off"
i was like "lol no"
asked if I could take their pictures some said yeah
have no intentions of sleeping with kids so didn't feel weird.

Aperture ruined this shot.
Run around during the day at f/8.

Befriending some kids then taking pictures of them is one thing, taking snaps is another.
Also, I'm on the sex offenders register so I'm not allowed near schools or unaccompanied kids.

>>2764395
Well men, a part of being an artist is to be confident in what you are doing.
Pic related is Mark Cohen, he have balls alright.
>>2765662
Look at the depth of field. Kid sitting up is in focus, kid crawling is out of focus. That's aperture.
>>2765661
well, then you probably shouldn't take pictures of kids
>>2765685
Look at the exif data. Phone used is a tiny sensor and lens, not a P&S or DSLR.
>>2765695
Homie, they still have apertures. Even if it were a fixed aperture, that's what fucked up that picture. Modern phone cameras aren't pinhole cameras, and if they were you'd have a nigh on infinite DoF.
>>2765704
AFAIK you can't change the aperture on a Galaxy Ace but the DOF isn't the problem. The foot pedal is sharp enough and even the dirt floor. The top left of the frame is fucked no matter how far from the focal plane it is.
My money's on a fingerprint half on the lens.
I still like the shot though.
>>2765692
You sound like my parole officer.

Highly doubt he was shooting on the Samsung Cellphone equivalent Manual Mode

Hello :)
>>2765723
Actually it's a crack in the lens, all my phone photos look the same in that corner :^).
Guess I should get a new phone (or bring my camera along more often) but my photos are primarily for personal use and I'm not too autistic about it.
Here, have a technically better shot from my x10 as remedy.
I have lots of photos of my nephews but I probably shouldn't share them here.

I haven't developed them yet, but I recently took some photos of children on a carousel. Their parents were around and nobody said anything although I waited until the kids came around to shoot so that they would be in the photos...Photos of an empty carousel would be boring. I think as long as there's an obvious purpose, nobody is going to think it's creepy.

oslooo, right?
whats so fucking eerie about you OP is your ability to convince yourself of your own innocence. like you truly don't understand why taking pictures of children in public is creepy as fuck.
the best way to take photos of children is to be born with a vagina. if you have a vagina, you can photograph pretty much anything without getting into trouble.
>>2766819
Denmark. They do look alike, though.
>>2766822
>you truly don't understand why taking pictures of children in public is creepy
perhaps you'd like to explain
>>2766822
OP here. I absolutely understand why things are the way they are, there are creepy people out there, but I'm not one of those people so it's a shame that I can't do what I enjoy.
It's a shame for the parents too. I'm not a great photographer but I'm better than the average parent. If I took a picture of somebody else's kid, there's a good chance it would be the best picture of them at that age.
>>2767017
there's clearly a difference in the photos taken but people aren't going to look at what photos you've taken before the societal expectations of someone taking photos of children kicks in
which is that it's creepy because people assume >>2765668
it's really not that hard to grasp if you're able to put yourself in someone else's shoes
>>2767124
Everybody understands why people feel uneasy taking pictures of kids, all I'm saying is that it's a shame.
I'm not a creep, I've never been a creep, there is nothing in my motives that anyone would find creepy, but because some people ARE creeps, I have to limit my actions.
I understand why, everybody does, but I don't like it.
Another pic from my city.

>societal expectations
These so-called societal expectations didn't exist a few years ago. They've been pumped up by the media and politicians knee-jerk reactions to a minority of creeps. These creeps, in fact, always existed. They just became more visible because of the internet, before that nobody cared
>>2767600
I'm not trying to defend kiddie diddling or any crap like that, but I do want to point out that many of us are just two, maybe three generations removed from it being normal for a 30 year old man to marry a 12-14 year old girl, and this is in the first world. Hell, it's not that long ago that Playboy had a 16 year old centerfold.
>>2767638
30 year olds weren't marrying 12 year olds in the 60s dude.
>>2767640

>>2767922
In general, I wouldn't say the UK is prudish. But when it comes to taking pictures of children, I think it's one of the most prudish places in the world.
