Hi!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I thought you guys might be able to help me out: my Panasonic lumix GF7 recently fell from an 1 meter high window sill. Now, when I turn it on, it's showing these horizontal colored stripes on the screen (screen itself is fine, menu and everything is working, nothing wrong with the lens either). It looks like something is wrong with the sensor, however I'm not entirely sure.

I opened up the camera to take a look, but I don't dare to remove the ribbons, so I can't really see what's up with the sensor. Maybe you guys have a clue? I hope it's just a loose ribbon or something (that can be easily re-attached by someone with a more steady hand and better tools), otherwise it's probably not worth fixing (I bought it second hand for half the original price, and figured that fixing a sensor might be really expensive).

Attached is a picture of how the screen looks like! When I do manual zoom, the stripes distort! ISO and all these functions are not working tho.

BTW I meant vertical stripes, not horizontal! Sorry!

Send it in for a repair, it looks like the sensor got dislodged from it's place with the electonic contacts.
Be prepared for a hefty price.

...What are you expecting as an outcome from posting this? You dropped your camera and its fucked, we can't unfuckulate it from the internet take it to a shop you dense mother fucker

Thanks for the reply! I can have a shop take a look at it and let them make a price estimation for repair. I paid 250 euros for the camera originally, if the price exceeds that, it might not be worth it :(

Well sorry for asking. I just wanted to know what could be possibly damaged before I give it to a shop for a possibly way too expensive repair... If it's something that one of my tech savvy friends can fix, might as well let them do it or not?

Buy a new one from Amazon and return your messed up one in its place. It's a no brainer.

They do not bother verifying serial numbers for items costing < $1K.
