Recently got back into photography after a two year hiatus, those are a couple of shots from the past few weeks.
Please tell me if my shit stinks, /p/.
not badly executed, but pretty dull in all. also, not a series, heh.
if you're going to keep taking pic from houses buildings etc I'd suggest sticking with color pics, as 2nd is the one that looks best, and I bet the 3rd would have some charm if it had nice colors.
the last pic is common place badly done, the pic before that a bit better.
all in all, the best critique I could give you is to photograph things you have a strong "connection" with, whatever that connection is.

No, not a series, these are all from a few separate nights. I guess you're right, there's no actual connection between me and the subject. How do you find that, though?
Here's the photo in color, I went for b/w because the sign has an odd glow I couldn't take care of.

Sweet. So I was right by guessing Karlsbad/the area around it.
Some of your images are a bit too dark and/or noisy.. What camera do you use?
>>2716353
Using a 600D, mounted the 10-22mm by Canon on most of these. I intentionally kept ISO low, how are they still noisy?
>>2716296
Well, it's not that it stinks, it's just that it's dull. Lacking a subject and a point of focus. Did you just get a tripod?
The first one is bad ass. The rest are shit. Sorry.
Random snapshits with no context or substance are just snapshits.

Are you kidding?

I do not agree with that at all. OPs images look like he was trying to capture something that was in his mind. Most of these shots had to have some thought and planning.
Some of the images might be dull to some, but definitely not a snapshit.
>>2719763
Haha, this is what happens when /p/ attempts to accept mediocrity.
If you have to struggle to identify what the focus is in an image, the person who took the photo did it wrong.
Justify your snapshits all you want, but they are exactly that - dull snapshits of random things.
>>2719831
I'm not trying to justify anything, as I'm not OP and those are not my images. I'm only sharing that I have a completely different opinion about the images than you.

this is why insta and flickr etc. have these accounts you look at and just shake your head. people that hit the like button just because an image, any image at all, ends up on their feed. these are the guys where any image taken at night is spectacular or anything in black and white is art. i'm guessing you have one of those accounts.

I do have instagram but I don't use flickr.
All I'm saying is that I don't agree with you saying that OP's images are snapshit as snapshit means to me an image that is just taken at random without any thought or meaning. I'm saying that in my eyes OP's images whether its good or not is not snapshit.
