I know this gets said a lot around here but you need to be closer. 75% of this image is unnecessary and adds nothing to the value of the image, especially if you were focusing on the person
Anyone else go through a weird, subconscious process when processing photos? I usually start with ultravivid, high contrast developing and then leave it, come back a day or two later and convert a majority of the photos to monochrome. I have no idea why I do it.

A pretty garbage shot, but considering its from accidentally triggering the shutter when I was putting the camera in my pocket I think it's alright. Would have never framed the photo at such an angle purposely, but if I hadn't I wouldn't have gotten both subjects into the frame

Its not a people thing, I just meant that the shot of a B/W rainy park bench is a bit over done. This shot is better. I actually like this shot a lot, if you cropped the bottom maybe 5-10% off (leave a little bit in front of that hatchback) it would be a little stronger. But I think having the subject smaller and farther away tells a bit of a story here. Especially since he's in a lighter part of the frame, where as the rest frame is pretty dark.

I'd personally do a separate exposure for the sky and the ground, and then combine them in post.
My night shots are usually wide open at f2.8 or f1.7 depending on lens and camera, ISO 100 or film speed 200, and anywhere from 20-30 seconds. Seems to work quite well for me, but I live near a major city.
