Its mostly the photo. Shot against the sun at sunrise, bit of fog, bit of smoke, warm up the top half of pic, cool down the bottom, reduce or increase contrast til it looks right-ish, all done in 2 minutes or less

I started listening lately to a lot of house music compilations on youtube and the trend there is a pretty picture like pic related while the music plays.
Love those pics. Have no idea who makes them but I like the style and im trying to copy it every chance I get. Granted my attempts are pisspoor at best, due to lack of ps knowledge mainly and the decade old camera being a very distant second, but its a hobby I love and will improve, and I promise you fellow /p/ lurker, when that happens, the lens flares will go away.

I'm pretty sure the subject of these images is the processing.
If you were planning on using one as, say, an album cover, then they might have potential.
But in terms of pure photographic value they are very weak.
Try and focus harder on getting a good shot straight out of camera, it will improve your images much quicker and editing will feel much more rewarding.

Love this camera. Bought it only because it weighs nothing with the nifty 50, the battery lasts for ages and its so tiny that it fits in a 100-300mm Sigma carry bag, with the lens on. Bought it for £30 and used it for 10 snaps before taking it abroad for my mini holiday. Took well over 250 photos and no problems with it. I was just as surprised when I saw them on the computer, wasnt expecting that from an 8mp 10 year old camera.

5 years ago i was here on /p/ posting some cinematic looking photos in the "n"th million "how do i get that effect" thread. /p/ pointed me in the right direction. For a while all I was doing was cinematic looking street photography, pic related. Then I got over it. Theres still some evidence of the former obsession left, even if unintentional, good eye regardless anon.
PS the lens flares, no one likes em, got it, wouldve used a hood but theres none for Canon 50 1.8
Will use another lens next time.
