What is the best camera? Forget the price for a bit, if you could choose one body and one lens what would they be and why?
>>
Latest Hasselblad and some top 30-35mm equivalent lens.

Other option - unlimited time on James Webb Space Telescope
>>
>>2859256

Fujifilm X-T1 is the best camera, my lens choice would be the FUJINON XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR lens, why this lens? Because it is optically perfect and 16mm is the PERFECT and only correct choice for shooting architecture.

An X-Pro2 would be an equally perfect choice depending on your shooting style and the subject with any Fujifilm lens because they are all amazing.

>inb4 shill

Yeah, because I would be that fucking autist walking around with a MF camera setup that thinks his images would be better in any way by lugging a brick around.

This.

Otherwise a Nikon D810 or Pentax K1 (24-70 f2.8 both) for general duty. I hippie Canon clobbers them both with the supposed 5d MKIV this fall.
>>
I would take a phase one 100mp and whatever is closest to 27° and preferably close focusing
I chose this camera because being stuck with it for life, I would prefer to go as long as possible before the camera's quality were to be considered insufficient based on what will be modern standards. I also considered stereo 3D for ultimate versatility and longevity but i couldn't find a single lens that served both macro and infinity

a question for you why not the 5DS R if price was not an issue? The 6D has produced by far the best photo's I've ever seen along with the 5D m2, I haven't seen much 5D m3 but I imagine it's basically the same, but wouldn't the 5DS R be quite a bit better than all of these cameras?

I just realized I want a gigantic slr so I can crush people against the shutter curtain with the mirror really fast
>>
Nikon FE.

You don't need anything more, except for, arguably, autofocus. Just git gud for that, though.
>>
>>2859636
In SLRs the mirror flips up, not back against the shutter.
>>
>>2859739
Well you get what I mean

I want to smack people with a giant mirror up against the prism
>>
>>2859740
Why would you want to harm other people? Are you 12? Are you an acne ridden aspie?
In any ways you have serious problems, I suggest you see a doctor and sort those edges out.

I don't need those extra pixels. 5DsR is good in studio or if used carefully for landscapes.
I need a reliable camera that I can use in many situtations.
Also, I got more gear that I need but I enjoy it.

What about Dxomark? They score the best Canon lenses extremely sharp with the 5DS R and much lower with the 5d m2 and m3 and 6d. does this not mean anything?
>>
>>2859863
It means more resolution. Is the main flaw in your photos resolution? Do you always shoot below ISO 800, and find that the only reason your photos aren't succeeding is that they aren't being printed large enough?
>>
>>2859864
So the lens sharpness scores are based on resolution as well? That's a pretty dumb test. I'm aware that more pixels are useless unless cropping or printing I'm just trying to understand dxomark's tests with lenses, so the best lens won't look any better on a 5DS R than a 6D? And what do you mean about the ISO?
>>
>>2859872
>more iso>more noise>more noise reduction>image less sharp>rating less accurate

>higher resolution>less noise>better definition (generally)>more accurate rating

Think of it this way: a lens that's utterly terrible on sides and corner, but good in center, could be a really good lens on a low resolution camera where you can't even notice it being shit, or on a crop sensor where those imperfections can't even be captured, but on a high resolution camera you are largely limited by your lens because every imperfection is easy to see. It comes to a point where, depending on camera, a bad lens can look the exact same as a good lens. It's why we have so many bad lenses today; cameras are just now to the point where lens sharpness is becoming a big deal in most cases.

It's not that big a deal unless you use adapted, old, or cheapo lenses. Most shots that are actually printed will be printed small enough not to matter on a high resolution camera.

Individual lens tests are useful. One lens is worth using on a low resolution camera, while it's not worth using on a high resolution camera.
>>
>>2859902
Sounds complicated. I'm going to buy a 6D I think considering I've seen so many freaking good shots with it, pretty dumb reason to get it but I know I can't really go wrong then and any problem will be me and not the camera. So you think the ISO performance on the 6D is better than the 5DS R and that the 5DS R has too many pixels? What do you think of the 24-70 II USM?
>>
>>2859922
look, just get the 80d or the 7d mkii

I love my 6D, you never realize how much smaller and a lighter it is until you set in next to a 5dmk3. If it had any better batt life, and wireless flash control, it would litteraly be perfect.
