#43- "Balls Deep in Strippers" Edition

Previous Thread:
>>768527

Mainebub may have to deal with snow and cold for 6 months of the year, but I can't say I'm not jelly right now of him catching stripper after stripper in his backyard
>tfw he lost count after 30

Also, the professional photo analyst is in! Post a pic of your fish with a shoe next to it. Don't mention the size of the shoe and he will tell you what it weighs!

This is fishing, gotta give it the extra ~1/2lb. But other anon is way off. I guess you gotta see them IRL and actually hold them. Catching a 16" bass with a gut vs a skinny one can make such a huge difference.

A bass? Really?

Yeah, but those were prolly like .5 over. That first one though people who saw it all said 4.5-5. A feesh with a gut like that and a mouth you could fit a few fists in isn't a 3lb fish.

Mah nigga I always see at this one lake tells me about these 6lb-7lb bass he pulls out of there and I really want to see a "7lb" bass. I've pulled a handful of ~3lb guys out of there but nothing crazy. On the other hand, I don't get too many little shit 10"-12" bass there like a lot of the other lakes, almost every bass I get is respectable, so maybe he is getting them.
>>

i could literally fit two fists in the mouth of this bass that the nigga argued was 3 pounds

I just watched 2 bass on consecutive casts grab my bait (Zoom bubblegum trick worm), swim a couple feet with it, then I failed with the hook set

I wish I would've weighed this snakehead though. Harder to tell weight since it isn't like largemouth where you can kinda tell from length and gut.
At least I haven't weighed enough of them to estimate well. This was the biggest one I've landed and I'm guessing ~4lb, give or take. It bent the shit out of the spinnerbait pulling it out of the water too.

For fuck's sake please no pics of fish under 12 inches in this thread.

No pics of fish hanging on the line without support (because they're so fucking small){

No pics of fish laying in the grass next to your fucking shoe

Let's keep this thread somewhere close to respectable and legitimate and not a gathering of poorfag neckbearded bank fisherman.

If you're going to take pics of your catch follow these directions:
>On a wet surface
>A ruler along side it
>A decent fucking size

Stop being an embarrassment.

I got 2 rods. I was thinking mepps on one and jigging on the other but now im thinking maybe topwater like a frog or a rapala on one and a jig on the other, that way there's a little more variation in my presentation without switching lures. Thoughts? Swapping lures is just time consuming

Ehh, while I would like to get a kayak or some little aluminum boat, boats are such a pain in the ass unless you live on a lake with a dock in your backyard or have A LOT of disposable income. I've been there.

Plus with shore fishing, I can get out to a lake down the street for an hour after work which is kinda nice. I would be down to have some expensive bass boat, but I'll survive without one.

>>
>>770546
You really shouldnt put the fish down on any surface, best thing to do is only lip it or even better, remove the hook without even touching it, and yes that means holding the fish by the line.

You're right about fish hanging on line being bad, but it's only bad for big fish. You can rip a bass's face off if he's heavy enough and your line can handle it. Small fish arent weighty so they dont have that problem.

If you're serious about catch and release, you ought to use barbless hooks and never let the fish touch anything, but you wont.

Dont get upset over small fish either, a lot of anons are learning to fish or fishing for the first time.

I haven't guthooked one in so long because I always use lures.

Plus whenever I catch one on a lure, I have to look at it for a minute to figure how I even hooked it at all. Lots of times I get the Mayans on Mepps #3's and their mouths are just big enough to get the treble in.

Ok, so not trying to beat a dead horse, but just going to throw this out there to prove my point about how pics don't show everything. I was curious myself since I have caught a lot of fish since I got this guy a couple months ago.

>tfw 12hrs in iPhone photo editor
This was the fish I said was closer to 4lbs.

That Leatherman is about 4.5" long. Salty picture police anon said this was "maybe a 2lb fish".

>>770546
So what did it weigh?
>>
>>770551
>>770554
I'm not the on bitching about it

I like these threads and I've got no problem with people posting their catches regardless of size

I wish I could afford a $20,000 bass boat and a nice truck to pull it with but I'm not at a point in my life where I can afford that
>>
>>770579
>tfw poorfag student and apparently the only person in my town that doesn't know someone with a boat

Life is suffering.
>>
>>770581
>>770579
Knowing somebody with a boat is the best way to do it.

There's a lot more to it besides the purchase of a $20k bass boat. Everything that comes with it costs a lot. I loved when I had my waverunners but goddamn what a money pit.
>purchase price of boat
>purchase price of trailer
>can your current vehicle tow said boat and trailer? No? Better buy that F-150 with the towing package!
>registration for boat and trailer
>insurance for boat and trailer
>dock spot or launch pass for the season
>winterization at the end of the season
>storage for the winter if you don't have a fuckhueg garage
>regular maintenance and tuneups on the boat
>maintenance on the trailer
>gas which it will burn through

Good luck if you ever have to get major work done on the boat too. That does not come cheap. Labor is expensive enough, but boat parts cost the high.

Dick's is great for fishing stuff. They always have so many good deals. The selection doesn't compare to Bass Pro or Cabela's, but I'm always down to buy a couple Rapalas or bags of Zoom.

Plus the last few times I've been there, I have bought some Zoom bags marked $3.99-$4.49 and they ring up like $1 less.
>>
>>770583
The guy I knew that HAD a boat was a navy vet and just wrenched on his own boat. Did sell it because it was expensive as fuck though.

>looking for good shore fishing spots
>a couple DNR piers in town but one is smack next to the college and probably incredibly busy and I'm not sure about the other
>find out we have a nice as hell state park 10 minutes north of town
>looking it up on the DNR page
>see in one of the pictures that vehicle permits are required
>extra $25 a year but the pier they have on the lake looks nice

http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/destinations/state_parks/virtual_tours/lake_bemidji/vt_bemidji.html

>just skip over to the fishing pier
Does that look worth it? I'm poor but it looks nice.

I'm trying to find some other fishing access on public land but it's really fucking hard since everyone knows someone with a boat and doesn't fish from the shore here. I'm half tempted to take out a new credit card to get a kayak or some shit.
>>
>>770594
>pulled firearms
What? Where? They still sell them here.

That fish is close to 20"
>>
>>770598
They pulled 'salt rifles n sheeit.
>>
>>770597
I mean $25 isn't shit for a whole year, but I fish by one boat launch where civilization meets the Everglades and it can be kinda annoying on a busy weekend. If you can access more than just one spot from there, go for it. But just to fish off the pier where boats dock, I guess it depends what $25 is worth tk you.

Also make sure you can fish from the pier if it is mainly for boats.
>>
>>770602
That's a fishing pier. There's a boat launch somewhere else.
>>
>>770600
They aren't a big outdoors store anyway so I wouldn't even get too worked up over it. Most of the Dick's around here pulled some of the fishing stuff to make the boating and kayak section bigger. Kinda pissed me off but it is still better than Walmart. At least they didn't go the Sports Authority route and pull fishing tackle completely.
>>
>>770598
Well based on what that anon argued to me years ago that fish would be .27 of a pound
And yeah I would still estimate it at 3.5 (give or take half a pound I'm no human fish scale)

It doesn't look certainly fat and doesn't seem necessarily thick (no big head and mouth or whatever)

Once again for the anon who thinks I'm a nazi
Everything I say is just my opinion or what I believe based off of my 19 years of fishing since I was a fetus
>>
>>770608
I don't like them out of principle. I also don't like Gander but that's all I have in my town. Would absolutely prefer a Bass Pro or Cabelas if I had to chose for a big box store. Preferably Cabelas.

Also, what do you poorfags use for a livewell or for transportation?

Kek, see, you're coming up a little now. That one didn't have the bulging gut, but it had that wide body shape compared to something like pic related. When you get skinnier bass around that length, that's when you end up with a 3lb fish.

Some of you goys are real quick to tell me the size of fish I caught without any way of possibly knowing how big it really was.

I don't have much option from the sand. Unless it's a fast receding tide, the wet part of the sand is usually where the wave is going to come in very soon and allow the fish to make a run for it.

If it's obviousa fish I'm not going to keep or even bother with picture, I would try a quick attempt to unhook if I see the hook is visible. I don't want to dunk my reel/rod in sand and water just so I can perfectly handle every fish I catch though. I do have to carry the fish out and so that I can find a place to set my rod down (like my rod holder if it's nearby) so I can work the hooks out if it's not a simple dehook process.
>>
>>770707
Warden might give you shit for it though. Many places are picky about what live bait can be used. Goldfish is especially a pretty annoying invasive specie people don't like them anywhere near a body of water.

I'm going to raise shiners in a pond in my backyard and see if my buddy who owns a glass station wants to buy them and worms

Sneks for sure. They all get too big to eat the other ones, but sneks would eat the baby carp and catfish and would also tolerate the shittiest water conditions. They could live in a puddle since they can breathe air.

Sneks are the most aggressive too. They are mean fuckers. I always say you never know why they are such a threat until you watch them hit a lure.

How often can you reuse soft plastics like curlytails and senko worms?

As long as you dont lose them can you use them ad infinitem? Or do they maintain their catching power forever? I've been keeping worms until they either get shredded or i lose them with the jighead
>>
other thread, y'all were talking about casting along the edge of vegetation and dropoffs for hits.
Vegetation is clear to see, but how do you guys know where the drop-offs are?
>>
>>770759
No idea how long the scents last, but I use em until they get too shredded to run weedless properly. That normally ends up being 2-4 fish. After a few hook sets, the top of them that sits on the offset part of the shank likes to split apart.

$4 for a pack of 20, they are cheap enough to grab a new one after a couple bites.
>>
>>770759
just pop in the microwave for 90 seconds after every 5 or 6 uses. as long as a fish doesnt tear them up, you can use them forever
>>
>>770765
Really? Does it melt it back together? Never heard that.

>>770762
If the water is clear enough, sometimes you can see it. Otherwise running a lure along the bottom, you will feel it as you drag it up a slope. You can also find weed beds that way that you can't see from the surface. I get lots of catches in spots like that where you would never know there are weeds until you run a lure through.

Still trying to figure out if the patterns in the waves have anything to do with it. I think it may be the key to figuring out the depths and where vegetation underwater is.

My one lake where the drop off is like 30yds from shore, I always see bass jumping right there at the edge. But old black dude who is always there has been telling me where a lot of drop offs and plateaus are since he has been fishing there for decades.

Check the wind forecast. Check the marine forecast. Make sure the winds are very light, and in a suitable direction. Blowing toward shore can be helpful. Make sure you know what time the tides are. Wear a life jacket. Wear a wetsuit in cold water <60 degrees. Have a whistle. Have a signal mirror. Get a marine vhf radio. Leave a float plan on your car and tell a family member when to expect to hear from you, and where you are going. Learn proper paddling techniques.

Stay close to shore until you get the hang of it. Dont panic and learn how to work the wind if it gets intense. Also learn how to take waves and shit properly.

Anyone else here fishing sea trout etc. from the shore, in harbours, canals and fjords?
I realise the majority here are from the US but still, there gotta be some other Scandinavians or similar as well...
Pic related. ~35cm flounder from yesterday. Caught on a simple rig on a small herring fillet. Gotta catch at least one more for dinner with the girlfriend so I can teach her the satisfaction of a self-caught meal...
>>
>>770838
Not yet. It's one of my main goals but they are damn near impossible to catch on lures. Gotta do shiners or something.

I have watched them suck up my bait and spit it out a couple times. They will follow certain soft plastics and nibble at them but they never grab em long enough to actually set the hook.
>>

>>
>>771028
>How do you handle a fish that is big enough that you would need to stand up to get the proper leverage?
It's not easy for a fish to drag around ~200lb.+ of angler and kayak (especially downwards) while also fighting the drag on the reel. I mean if it's a shark or a billfish or something then that's different but even a toad yellowfin will tire itself out against a kayak angler who sets his drag correctly; basically just keep your drag set to where the fish can't snap your line by pulling hard enough and turn your kayak sideways (plus use sea anchors, if you have them) and lean away from the fish and the fish will be fighting the drag of the reel and/or the drag of the kayak through the water the entire time.
>>
How do I fish?
I mean I've grown up fishing since a was a kid, but I had my father and uncles to guide me.

I dont mean literal fishing, but more proper etiquette, for being around other anglers, and not making a total ass of myself or insult others

>>
>>771106
ok, now how do I get over my social anxiety of public fishing?
I can't put it into words really but I can't get over the idea of driving to a public park, walking down to the river, and fishing.

I guess maybe I am a little overwhelmed by where to start, since I've never fished on my own, I can't really choose heads or tails where a good place to fish is, and where a bad, or inappropriate place to fish is.

Any idiot can throw a lure into a puddle of water, but I don't want to make a fool of myself.
>>
>>771253
We learn through our failures in life.

Just go for it...
>>
>>771233
Are you hauling properly? What's the gram weight of the line you have on? Is it fiberglass or composite?
I can throw a 2/0 pike fly with a 7wt no problem. If you're having issues, and are properly loaded and hauling well, then it's a shit rod.
>>
>>771253
Scope out lakes like I go to. Lots of them are in little industrial parks and commercial areas. Ignore the "No Fishing" and "No Tresspassing" signs.

I love going to places like this on a Sunday morning. Nobody is ever around aside from the rare fisherman and most people fishing from shore at 6:30am on a Sunday at these lakes will be pretty laid back.

Just ask em if they're catching anything. You can tell right away if they are friendly or want to be left alone. A lot of the time they will give you some tips on fishing the lake too. If they seem like a dick, walk to the complete opposite side of the lake.
>>
>>771253
Hey man, don't sweat what other people think.
Fuck 'em. Learn how to read water, and know that anywhere that's easily accessible is usually not the best place to be fishing anyways. Not saying you can't catch fish where everybody goes, but you'll have more fun and be more successful finding those honey holes and generally you'll be by yourself.
>>
>>771253
You're going to have to accept the fact that you'll get weird looks and Do stupid things
Its like a bandaid
You can Do that two ways
Quick in one rip and get it over with
Or a gentle pull, inch by inch, one hair ripped out by the root at a time
>>
>>771274
I flounder and fuck up with my 7 weight but then pick up my 4 weight and I'm throwing nice tight loops and getting good long casts that shoot beautifully
>>
>>771274
I am pretty sure it's glass
It's an eagle claw rod I dug up that my dad had
>>
>>771287
It's a hell of a lot more weight to throw. Hauling is a bit different on heavier lines and requires a bit of time to get down, and if you find that it's overloading your rod, trim some of the head little by little until you find the sweet spot. That's usually last resort though, especially if you have a 7wt line on a 7wt rod. You have to remember that gram weight differs from line to line, and you very well could have a line that is too heavy for the action on your rod. If it's a cheap line, I'd recommend trimming only if you keep at it and cant get it to load/shoot properly.
>>
>>771253
Just smile and wave man. I'm the same way when fishing a new spot. Most likely no one is gonna say anything as long as you aren't causing trouble. Like the other anon said, fuck what people think. They're probably just jealous they aren't out there fishin anyway.
>>
>>771289
Ahh... see that's probably it. I grew up throwing on a fenwick glass rod. The action is immensely slower than graphite composite. That's just the nature of fiberglass. That's why it's a good for people learning to fly cast as far as lighter weights go. When you start getting up into the higher weight fiberglass rods, they tend to be really slow, and take a lot of practice to get the feel of when to haul down.
>>
>>771306
and not to mention a proper double haul is paramount on those higher weight fiberglass rods.
So play around with it, and if you cant get it down, find yourself a nice 7wt composite.
>>
>>771298
I really have no idea
I do know it's got shit balance
The reel I had on it was too light and also shitty and the reel I've got now is decent but heavy as fuck
>>
>>771315
Yeah eagleclaw rods are fucking garbage. Great for a beginner, but not so much for anyone actually asking something of a fly rod. lol At least you didn't pay for it.
>>
>>771308
>>771306
I've been double hauling. But I'm having a lot of problems getting it to shoot through the guides and getting a loop under 5 feet and my fly goes side to side over the loop, and very often the fly hits my mainline
I've absolutely given up on false casting because the fly just hooks under the li e and either smacks the water, killing the cast, or snags the line, killing the cast
>>
>>771320
I'm glad it's the rod and not me
As I was getting into it I was so disappointed in my casting and inability to cast
Any reccomendations for an affordable but quality fly rod in either 7 or 8 weight with a fighting butt anyone could recommend I start saving up for? I've got a spool of both 7Wt and 8wt weight foreward floating line so I'm good with either one
>>
>>771329
Okuma SLV 7wt graphite is a good choice, usually priced around $80. Also, don't be afraid to throw a line weight less than the rod, but avoid a line weight more, as it will overload most rods.
>>
>>771323
As far as this goes, fiberglass has a lot of tip travel. When I throw on mine, I usually stop around noon and the travel carries it to two. So if you're already moving it back to 2, it's traveling further than it needs to, so it will drop your cast. As far as shooting, if the rod is loaded correctly, and you're not dropping your back cast, there shouldn't be any issue. So no idea about that.
>>
>>771279
Some folks are nice some aren't,
When I fished the ct and Rhodes island shore recently I noticed this,
Met one guy in ct who was a dick
A few guys that were pretty neutral maybe a bit friendly
Then when I got to Rhodes island I met some Asian dude who gave my friend two smokes and offered me some just because he asked what we were fishing for etc and I was somewhat friendly back to him , he ended up catching crabs right below me where I was fishing so I had to be careful not to hit him but other than that he was quite nice

Then I ran into another guy who was leaving and asked if he got anything and on what, he told mw bucktails and small spoons and immediately was stopping walking and reaching for his tackle bag to give me some asking if I had any

Also chatted with another guy who asked me twice in a half hour if I wanted to fish where he was becuase he was fine fishing anywhere

Though i was casting almost twice as far as him so I was fine staying back a bit

>>771337
I normally just say hi to people and ask how the fishin is except for one older black dude who I see a lot at these two lakes. Whenever he shows up, we end up fishing like 20' away from eachother and talking the whole time.

That's dude who was talkin about the 7,5lb bass in the lake.
>>
would low water levels increase or decrease the chance of fish going for a lure?

I mean, normally I would go right for the shallows/weeds/drop off, but with the water level is just below them, so would I have more luck throwing a lure at the deepest part, or would I have better luck dropping a bait to the very bottom?
>>
>>771375
I'm not 100% sure, but I would think lower water would mean less oxygen, so the fish might not take anything that isn't right in front of them. Depending on how big the body of water is of course. I don't think it'll matter too much in a big lake, but in a pond it might.
>>
>>771375
If we're talking about lakes, not generally.
If rivers, absolutely.
>>
>>771378
it's a large pond, and certainly deep enough that oxygen isn't an issue, but the shores are completely drained, there's nowhere for baitfish to take cover so that ideal strike zone between the shore and deeper waters doesn't exist.

so now all you have is 7-8" bluegills and bass chilling around the majority of the pond, and I'm wondering what it would take to get the 14+" fish I know are there, attention.
>>
>>771385
Catch a small bluegill and use it to catch large bass. They only eat bluegill in that pond. So get a lure that looks like a bluegill. My pond behind my house is the same. I just use bluegill looking lures. You need to focus the big bass on what they eat.

my bet would be on a northern water snake, based on slight coloration and head shape,
>>
>>771498
I think you're right. I checked with my state's wildlife site and there are no wild cottonmouths in my state.
>>
>>770664
Now you say that perch is 6 lbs and the fly rod is actually a 14 weight... lol
>>
>>771504
there may be copperheads/ cottonmouths etc even if the state claims the arent there, just like how my state claims there arent mountain lions in the state, But folks see them, that being said dont fuck with any snake you arent sure what it is unless youre willin g to take that risk,
>>

http://www.247wildlife.com/copperhead-vs-cottonmouth.html
im dumb and willing to risk grabbing snakes though im usually pretty sure theyre non venomous first
>>
>>771508
Except that bass I said was close to 4lbs was nearly 20 long with a nice girth while salty anon said "MAYBE 2lbs".

I still gotta argue for that one. I have gottwen a few nice bass in my days.

To clarify I was going to scope out a small lake I remember finding innawoods that seemed like it may have been a good spot for bank fishing.
>>
>>771522
>>771523
That sucks. I think I have had a tick on me once and I caught it as it was trying to dig into my leg.

Even with the heat here, I always wear long pants and often a long sleeve shirt because of bugs and all the prickley shit in the grass. When I go fishing with dude from work, he likes to wear sandals with socks and basketball shorts and then complains when his feet are full of shit.
>>

None latched on. Only a couple had started to bite down. I'm confident that I'm fine.

An outdoors store by me is getting rid of all their fishin shit so they're doing a 50% off sale. I don't think I did too bad for $60
>>
>>771592
mercy....
>>
>>771592
Nice, so were those Berkley hooks like $2 with the sale? Those Fusion hooks aren't too bad. Not as thin as Eagle Claw but not overly thick like Trokar and some of the expensive ones.

I like that Booyah spinner with the chartruese blades too.

And have you ever used those Red Eye Shads? They are interesting lures. I have a handful of them. Last time I used one, it was a big almost solid chartruese lure and it was getting attacked by Mayans who couldn't fit it in ther mouths.
>>
>>771508
Are you blind? That perch is 60pounds and on a custom made 30 wt fly rod I imported from Australia that they use to catch crocodiles
>>
>>771592
Noice
>>
>>771598
>Berkley hooks
Yep. $1.75 per pack. They had a shit ton more, I might go back tomorrow and see if they still have some. I really like these hooks too.

And nah I haven't used the red eye shads. I don't normally buy cranks at full price.
>>
>>771605
Damn, good lookin buying all those Berkley hooks up.

And you will see when you toss those Strike Kings. They have some nice action. Makes you wonder how they get that movement out of a lipless crank.
>>
>10 hours of fishing today
>no bass
>no fish over 2 pounds

Suffering
>>
>>771610
At least you got something. I have a blast when the smaller bass and Mayans are biting. Just break out a light setup and crank them in one after another. I love finding a little school of them where I can toss a worm in the same spot and pull up 8 fish in 10 casts.
>>
>>771610
Atleast you got out,
I've been meaning to get out for days and haven't been able to do because I've been busy with yard work etc

On the bright side I've been able to start making some lures by hand , and I may be buying a $120 DREMEL for 40-50 bucks to make my work a bit easier
>>
>>771631
Also on the down side I managed to get epoxy in my leg hair
>>
>>771631
I wanted to get out after work all week but these long hours and rain have been killing me. Didn't get off til after 5:00 today and wanted to get out for a couple hrs but there were some bad storm clouds rolling in.

Heard some thunder but it barely drizzled. I could've tried. But then again FL weather is crazy so it could be storming at the lake but sunny at my house 3mi away.
>>
>>771609
Kewl I'll toss it around today.

Jesus. How big do you think it was?
>>
>>771649
>>771652
Damn, that had to have some weight to rip the rings out. Especially if it was still in the water.
>>
>>771652
>>771654
20-30lbs probably, it was well past the limit of my gear, I actually started to just pull the line in for fear of snapping my rod.

to be honest though the lure was probably several decades older than me so the fact it broke the trebles off is more insult to injury, than it was something spectaculator
>>
>>771657
Blue or flathead?

Flat, I can't remember the last blue I saw up in Ohio

So how many of you guys where shades all the time while fishin?

I was talking to Miami anon and said a decent pair of shades is almost a 'must have' for fishing. Not just for staring into the sun, but even on overcast days it is so much easier to see weeds and fish underwater. Can we all agree on this?
>>
So I looked up kayaks on craigslist and found a perception pirouette for 290
Think it would make a good fishing kayak if I modified it with rod holders and a space for tackle and a cooler?
I'm thinking about offering then some shit I don't use any more- tree stand crossbow some fishing gear etc
>>
>>771668
I've never seen flathead in ohio but I've seen plenty of blues here
>>
>>771674
I sight fish regularly in low light conditions and have a pair of costas with mirrored yellow tint. i cant do what i do without them. Glare reduction is absolutely necessary when sight fishing with a fly rod, but has it's applications elsewhere as well. Fishing stillwater shallows is a big one, on the river, and in the salt as well.
>>
>>771657
Damn. I just lost what had to be at least a 3 pound bass. Got a shitty hookset and he shook it when he jumped.
>>
>>771688
Did you drop your rod tip when he jumped?
>>
>>771674
i just squint ike a motherfucker, Im the kind of guy who will spend $60 on lures but wont shell out $20 for a pair of sunglasses,
though i should realy gett them for when i hit this one section of river, cuties left and right dozens of them , dont want to get caught staring
>>
>>771674
I need a good pair of glasses but poorfag
Pepsi buy me more things
>>
>>771687
That sounds like a good idea with the yellow tinted ones. If I'm fishing at sunset, I leave my shades on until the last possible minute. Helps a lot with shore fishing since I can see underwater obstructions like weeds and logs. Plus I can see feesh swimming by. It makes such a huge difference.

>>771688
That sucks. I lost my biggest bass ever a month or two ago when he wiggled off the spinnerbait coming through the grass and weeds a few feet from shore.
>>
>>771695
You really should buy a $20 pair. It makes a world of difference. And not from the sun, but it cuts the glare on the water so you can see under it way better. Makes a huge difference on overcast and cloudy days too.

>>771696
Dammit skid, just grab the $10 pair from the gas station. What do you wear while riding your bike?
>>
>>771683
I assume you live near southern Ohio(aka West Virginia/Kentucky) because I'm not even half an hour off the lake and I doubt blues ever make it up that far

Nah. It was a super shitty set tho.

>>771697
It okay. Caught this little guy.
>>
>>771702
He's closer to Cleveland I think. NW Ohio. I think blues are spread out quite a bit.
>>
>>771674
I have a shitty shade that I wear because I'm paranoid about a hook flying into my face. It slightly helps on sunny day and protect my eyes from UV damage. I gonna get a polaroid sunglass when I have my first paycheck from this new job. I heard those are nice and can help you see fishes in the surf and shit. Any recommendation?

Is the line frayed because a toothy fish stripped it? I left my bait out over night and the rig was gone but the line was stripped. Im hoping it was an alligator gar or bull shark
>>
>>771697
Maybe I should start namefagging. lol

Yeah, they're fantastic because of minimal light loss through the lenses, and mirroring prevents back glare. Mine were pricey as fuck, but they are costas. For a long time I had a $20 pair of foster grants that served well also.
>>
>>771702
Ever hear of ravenna?
>>771701
I have a clear visor on my helmet
>>771705
It might have helped
Watch people fish for tarpon those fish spend as much time jumping as swimming and they always drop the tip
>>
>>771674
I feel like i want some, but it also feels like shades are cheating
>>

I know it's grape/vineyard country.
I live in Geauga so we're practically next door neighbors
