What does /out/ think of camouflage? I read something recently about some new thing based off of or similar to Multicam was supposed to roll out in 2015 to replace whatever that digital-looking stuff is that the Army currently has. Which do you like most and why? Which do you believe is most effective and why? Pic related; gibbed it from Google.
>>
I actually just started phasing out my UCP with the OCP (modified multicam) ACUs. Shits pretty great for work but I'd never wear it backpacking or camping
>>
>>707212
But as far as my favorite for effectiveness; PenCott Greenzone for lush areas, Multicam/OCP for transitional, and Multicam Arid for desert environments
>>
>>707202

Shit-tier.

>You look autistic in front of others

>You are almost invisible if you need rescue

I wear bright colors when climbing or camping outdoors, and while I agree bright, neon-like colors are tiresome, I still prefer plain natural colors to cammo.

Great for the army not so great for civilian use
>>
>>707220
Who says some of us in this thread are not preparing bug-out bags or something that require camouflage?

>>707214
I like PenCott's Badlands camo but don't really know how effective it is. I'd love to have a reversible jacket made with their Badlands and Snowdrift. I'd also love to find some backpacks made out of the stuff that weren't full of velcro like pic related.
>>
>>707234
Pic also related.
>>
>>707202
Everyone has got their personal preferance i guess, but i think it looks dumb. Ewpecially when people wear it around in every day life
>>
>>707220
>look autistic in front of others based on clothing choices
Having this low of self esteem must be miserable.

I posted actual object images ( A jacket in Multicam and two bags featuring Pencott snowdrift and badlands ) and not just white boxes. If they really just show up as nothing but white to you then you'll want to check your computer. If you're just kidding around I don't get the joke unless you're saying the products blend into their background; a joke I honestly still wouldn't understand.

I don't see shit! What the fuck are you on drugs or something?
>>

you mean, /out/istic
>>
>>707220
This. Dull natural colours are good enough for concealment, especially once they get dirty, and they don't make you look like a fucking autistic roleplaying faggot. Have a few bright coloured things is good too, for visibility in case you need rescue.
>>
>>707385
Plenty of backpacks have high-vis interiors you can show if you need rescue and it is easy enough to put in some reflectors or signal mirrors along with orange reflective blankets and other orange or yellow gear.

So what does /out/ believe the most effective forms of camouflage are?
>>
>>707397
Different patterns work best for different locations and times of year, the real question IMO is whether or not you should use a more specialised camo, or if you should use something that does a decent job in a wider variety of situations, and also whether you should even wear camo.
>>
>>707409
In my case I'm building up my bug-out things and my environments will be consisting of forests and snow. Other people might have other needs. I guess for the sake of my question ( >>707397 ) we'll say this: You have to bug out and most likely won't be able to go home or into "civilized" areas for the next few years ( maybe because war or famine, etc. ) and your bug-out location(s) consist of forests where snow is a factor in 1/4 seasons.

For that situation, I guess I would probably use Finnish M05 woodland pattern and M05 snow pattern

I've been looking for that exact camo for a while now. It would suit my environment perfectly; but It seems to be pretty rare in the UK.

Any britbongs know where to get it?

>>707220
>>707385
I agree, I prefer wearing colours such as tan and olive green. Camouflage is useful in some situations though.
>>
>>707436
AFAIK it's pretty much impossible to get real M05, but there's a Polish guy on ebay who sells a pretty good repro.
>>
>>707438
link?
>>
>>707445
Shit I can't find it anymore.
>>
>>707436
Cadpat is probably a good alternative, it'll take a while for surplus M05 to get on the market.
>>
>>707234

If you plan to "bug out" in the apocalypse dressed in fashionable military gear expect to be the first one to get shot by everyone
>>
>>707486
This. Camo is good to have, but you wouldn't want to wear it around other people, and wearing super fancy shit is a great way to get shot and have your stuff stolen.

I wear German M44 Dot, it's cotton but man this stuff is effective. It's like $120 for a set. But now I know why the Allies has such a hard time fighting the SS in the Hedgerows of France.
