All your shit is gonna be less weight on the back than riding two up, and unless you're huge yourself most bikes are fine with just stock preload bumped up. Can confirm tankbags look like shit though, mine gets used mostly as GPS holder since it has a see through bit on the top. Consider something like a Kriega or knockoff, a backpack that you can attach to your tail?

Yes, but it's kinda redundant since I already have a rucksack and I don't really want to carry a backpack around.

>>15404035
That's some top tier rope work you got there

>>15404053
I'm not huge but I might have to adjust the preload anyway, right now it feels too stiff.

Yeah I like the idea of being able to lay on top of it, but I don't think I can fit anything big enough for that on my bike.

Anyone got a recommendation for a helmet intercom for at least 5 people? Even up to about 10 people possibly.

Anyone tried an ebay special intercom system? The most popular brands are so expensive that I'm going to try hooking up portable CB radios to helmets tomorrow but it's definitely not ideal.

help!

My bike just up and died while riding. I was going about 40mph and the engine went quiet and I pulled over. I tried starting it again but the engine wouldn't turn over. I messed with the choke and it didn't seem to matter. This is the second time this has happened, first time I had the spark plugs changed and the bike started and got home ok.

I am currently on the side of the road waiting for AAA to tow me to the shop. I just wanted to get an idea of what could be wrong before I get to the mechanic.

The bike is a 2007 Honda shadow spirit 750 chain drive.

Because you go faster on the Autobahn. I avoided it on the way to the SEM, went around 100-120 unless I was going through towns and fueled up every ~250 km with still more left in the tank; on the way back I used the Autobahn going 140 almost constantly and almost ran dry after 180-200 km. Wind resistance increases faster than linear with speed.

I take very nice care of bike. Give tablespoon of sugar in each tank of petrol for sweetness of exhaust, many mile is good for drive. Italian electronic is magic
sometimes it work sometime it not

thing with Italy is that they want good Bosch electric, but then they buy Bosch and don't have money left because they want sell cheap so they buy the other parts magnetic Marelli and they don't harmony that good if in one ECU
they can't Bosch and MM in one ECU

at least that problem with cars of Italy most of time

So something weird is happening

I reactivated the old GB500 Clubman again, and as the battery is pretty much dead after the long standing time, the e-start didn't work. She started beautifully with the kickstart though.

Then, the blinkers ONLY work when i press either brake. And when I brake, all the lights (headlight, neutral, kickstand etc) start flickering.

Is this just a dead battery or are the electrics fuckt?

How to clutch wheelie?
I can power wheelie fair enough but I can't get the clutch up right, 2nd gear is a struggle and I can hardly do it. 1st is no problem though, I'm thinking I'm not using enough throttle but I just get a little bit air but the clutch seems to slip...
almost 70,000km on the bike, I don't know if the clutch has been changed. How long do clutches usually last? Or do I just need to spend a day practicing and kill the clutch anyway?
>>
>>15404652
Forgot to mention it's a z1000 so it should have no problem to clutch wheelie.
>>
>>15404652
70k is quite a run for one clutch, depends on how it's been used.

If frequent clutch in attempts and aggressive shifting surely might need replacement.

You should be able to notice it yourself though, if the clutch is baked it should slip, rpms increase without outputting any more power thus not allowing you to clutch wheelie.

Are these bikes worth owning or will I step into a world of despair and agony like I did with my BMW 750?
The K100RS apparently has barely half the power of my liter FZR despite being 4 pot too and it's apparently quite heavy to boot.

Because I like older bikes and I fell in love with the looks. That's also a thinly veiled "I'm poor".
I could get another Aprilia RSV for the same price, but that would be much more unreliable than the BMW, I'm 100% sure of that.
Also could get a Ducati 600 Dark but that too is both Italian and old, so I doubt it would be any better.

Then there would be this one 1000cc Kawasaki ZZR, think it was a 98 model and from my experience Kawasakis are hardy little machines with power to back up the looks.

My mistake, was actually a 1991 1100cc ZZR, deepest apologies.

Full engine overhaul done 12k km ago with new seals everywhere, pistons and rings. Obviously new headgasked and the head was apparently planed too.
3k km ago new sprockets and chain.

The thing seems to be pretty much pristine and the owner stated that he's willing to give a test ride but only if he sees that you own a license and deems you experienced enough. Apparently is only selling it to experienced owners too who know how to ride a heavy powerboat and take care of it.

I dunno man. I mean, I did have a Ninja a long time ago and currently the liter FZR, but am not sure if I'm THAT experienced as a driver.
The ZZR apparently pushes out 150hp whereas my FZR is at 130 or so.

When selecting a helmet, exactly how tight is tight enough? After trying one on in a store, I bought an RF-1200 online and it just got here today. The cheekpads are nice and snug and I have no slack in the forehead area but if I swing my head side to side rapidly the helmet will move slightly around my head. Should this be a dealbreaker? Will this become too loose over time? I measured my head at 60cm which is the top end of Large according to Shoei.

But depending on when you plan to start from Cimolais, we could pick you up and then start riding to Bled together, it's only 3,5 hours if I see it correctly
