down as in toward the handle bars making it lower at the front or higher?
raising the front end will fix that, lowering it will make it worse.
lowering it also fucks with the handling of the bike, reduces the lean angle the bike is capable of to begin with and also reduces your braking power by taking weight off the rear wheel and putting it on the front wheel.

drop it the forks down as low as they will go in the triple clamps considering your front tyre, as long as half a millimeter or so is still poking through they arent going anywhere,
it will make a huge difference in pretty much every aspect of the bikes handling

his bike is below the balance point, it will make it handle better and it will also make it brake better because the rear wheel will actually have a little bit of weight on it.
wouldnt have to do it if he had a tyre that was 10mm taller

shim actually goes under the bucket but nice try.

Shim and bucket valve adjusters are great though. Easier to get the feeler gauge in there and rarely go out of adjustment. A lot of people like the screw and jam nut because it's easier to adjust, but I actually found it easier to take out the cams to change the shims than to try to fit a wrench and screwdriver in that tiny area under the frame to adjust the screw.

why is /dbt/ so hung up on big bikes?

in the city a small bike is so much more fun to ride and makes so much more sense than ruining your 2nd gear on a supersport racing light to light

i just took my old 175 for a boot for old times sake and it was a blast going through all the gears and just whipping it around like a litte toy

175 is a bit on the extreme end but it keeps up with city traffic ok and my 250 is faster than most things on the road

i live in canada so i have bigger bikes for driving longer trips at faster speeds but i can't imagine trying to get around europe on a supersport and just destroying the transmission all the time

Spend some more money and get something that offers good protection and looks timeless. I've been considering buying a pair of Hood Jeans, they have an affordable price.

It's annoying.
They move side to side a bit too much and while they fit over my knees when my legs are bent what happens if I go down and my legs are strait? I really don't want to bash my knees.

Something weird happened yesterday

I was cruising down a small mountain and decided to shift into neutral, just because. as I wanted to shift into first because the mountain came to an end, i pulled in the clutch and pushed my foot down. but, even though the clutch was pulled in, the shifter began to shake pretty hard, and showed some strong resistance.

is this normal, or is my bike finally fucked?

Hory Shet.

As for the 790 kit dyno chart, I think that's representative of just that kit alone with the usual airbox, carb, and exhaust, not including the cam and headwork. I'd like to see what it'd be with the works.

That's how transmissions work. The input shaft slows down a lot when it's in neutral, so when you put it back in gear even with the clutch in it has to suddenly speed up a significant amount.

To help smooth it out rev up your bike in neutral before you pull your clutch and click it into gear.
>>
>>15320044
good to know, cheers bruv

The OE carb on the DR650 is really low-rent. Also, there's quite the "booger weld" inside the exhaust flange, the unmodified airbox is stuffy, and the OE muffler is silly restrictive. Fixing those issues alone will get you over 40HP. Increasing displacement with a better piston design in combination with the aforementioned mods would feasibly get you >50. That said, I'm having plenty of fun with my mostly-stock (some model of FMF muffler), 36ish HP tractor.
