First learned to drive manual at a Cadillac dealership working as a porter for a summer job between 11th and 12th grade. I had to learn to be able to move trade-ins and to bring up used cars. Owner of the dealership said he'd teach me and he made damn sure I was good at it before he let me drive anything on his lot.

Tried in a Honda CRX. But dudes teaching me made it sound like I was just supposed to dump the clutch so I didn't do much besides stalling it twice and giving up.
Then I really learned when my friend got pulled over with his RSX-S while hooning in a parking lot. His license was suspended and cops said he wasn't allowed to drive home so I took over and got us away from the police.
Then I perfected it when another friend got arrested and I had to hold down his E36 for 2 months while he was in jail. It was much easier dealing with little mistakes when the owner of the car isn't in the passenger seat all worried.

Everyone at my old job used to rag on me for driving a shitbox, but Rita keeps going with minimal maintenance whilst someone's Jaguar refused to start for the drive home, a Range Rover shit the bed half way up the entrance road, a few-years old Peugot spewed oil over the recently laid expensive block paving parking area and the pride and joy BMW bought by a smug bitch repeatedly broke down either in the morning to work or when it was time to leave.
The Fiesta was all I could afford, I didn't over extend myself on finance like my friends, didn't go for a BMW as a status symbol and pay over the odds for an unreliable krautbox (ha ha fuck you bitch) and on a budget I have maintained it enough to keep it going with barely any faults.

2010 VW Golf 5mt
First car was a 2003 Camry, then I had a 2010 corolla, almost got the corolla in manual but only had a day before I had to go back to work (pizza delivery)
The i5 has decent torque though, but the clutch travel was really far, even surprised everyone who drove it that knew how to drive stick

It's like the badass Golf, I wish they sold them here:/

1984 Datsun Pick-up.
Then a shitty 98' Saturn sedan my meth-head girlfriend drove at the time is where I got most of my experience.
Then I got a job driving a cement truck, an International 2554 or someshit. It was a double-clutch and it was underpowered as fuck.
That's pretty much all I know about learning to drive a manual.

A buddy's black SN95 Mustang GT. Buddy needed a ride to the airport and I didn't have a car so yours truly drove his Mustang. He had an early flight so the streets were rather empty.
I found it to be a shame though how he treated his car since he kept talking about it the whole time he was saving up for one.

2013 dodge dart. I thought i was horrible at it, then i drove a 2005? 350z and it was like clockwork. Tranny in the dodge blows

>tfw want to learn how to drive a manual
>tfw no friends or family has a manual transmission vehicle to practice with

Similar situation.
Dad hasn't driven manual since the 80s.
I have a friend with a Golf R, he lives quite a ways away and probably doesn't let other people drive it. Not sure I would if I had one.
Our landlady has an Elantra but says it's not a good learner the way the clutch is.

Go buy a $500 shitbox and learn to drive stick.

It's not like I couldn't, but we have three cars as it is, so no parking space for a new one. One of them has to go first (thinking the Outback since it's in the worst shape).
