So, I am not the "usual" gamer. I am very much into racing & flight simulation.
I am 30 now. I have my own little company and work from my home office, which is my gaming rig at the same time.
I really love to heavily invest myself into games with online leagues. I'd want to Simrace, practice heavily, climb the ladder etc. At the same time I'd love to sink quite some time into Flight Simulator, which gives you the feeling of adventure from your own home.
My problem is on one hand, juggling the time between work, girlfriend and gaming and on the other hand, probably most significant, the fact that my girlfriend doesnt really understand/support my passion for those games. It really makes me a happier person, especially after long hard days with work, if I can do what I love, from my own home.
At the same time I do understand, that with work and games, there arent a lot of hours left in the week and I guess its not nice for her either, if I just sit in my little office around the clock, on and off work. I've already tried getting her to play games. But she doesnt want to play - at all - anything. The trouble I have is, it makes me unhappy, not being able to do those things properly. I dont like casual gaming for an hour and then stop. I love to invest my self heavily into the things I do. I guess a problem is also, if I try to give myself time to "play", she doesnt respect my wish to not disturb for a certain time (which is especially important if you're SimRacing)...
Do any of you have any advice? I realize, I might sound like a an adult who wants to be a teenager. And its probably true. I cant really see why this is wrong either, since I not only support both of us with my work, but also employ her. Still, I am seeking advice here, because I'd like to find a solution that works. Thanks for reading till here. I appreciate any advice.

Managing life and gaming isn't easy. As an adult gamer I've accepted that gaming is tertiary, always. If I could lose my lady or my games, I'd lose my games every time. If I could lose my job or my games, my games every time. Etc. That being said your spouse has to understand your gaming as a hobby. I know the track that come with Ultimate Stage (except Shomaru, that's 2hektik4me) so I don't think crashing on T1 would be a problem.
I'm more worried about Shingo-ing other people or being so worried that I can never over take.

also a reminder that the project D mod is terrible and designed solely so that the cars will look good drifting in replays. The physics are completely unrealistic, the power figures are made up, the tire model is straight out of IDAS, and we should not use it for the touge series for this reason.
You only drift in touge when it's the fastest way around a corner, not because you're trying to drop trap panties like some D1GP driver.
If you guys look for the individual road car mods you want to use instead of pulling the halfassed betas out of the shift street mod, the carpack will work properly.

I thought the touge night was done pretty well and it was only the first time without a lot of previous testing so some instability was expected.
Overall battles were fun to watch and participate in.
If people really want a roadcar pack that doesn't have stuff from PD I can spend some time working on that. That said it will probably take a few weeks to compile it all in a relatively bug-free fashion.
For now Paul is doing a good job and his pack works well if we just have the people racing and the camera car connected.
It's a goofy fun series and I think some people are taking it far too seriously. I do agree there are some balance changes that would improve it but it's not make or break.

With us having a liveracers page now we can see before the event happens who needs to adjust their car. With Kraid running a server we can easily organise the event a lot faster and with us just having people who are about to race on the server it will cut down on crashes etc. When we got going last night after all the problems it took us a lot less time

This weekend's race is at Motegi East. The surroundings may be drab, but the racing is sure to be hot, with all drivers having something to race for. The new NFS and The Crew both give me conflicting feelings.

Anon, it's garbage. The handling is a fucking lucky dip as to whether the car does what you want it to do rather than what the game thinks you're trying to do. The world is soulless and dead and the AI cheats like a motherfucker (an AI 180SX smoking Mclaren 650s, SLS AMGs and Lamborghinis for example), but if it's a decent 60fps on my hardware and it's dirt cheap I might pick it up again as the parts that are fun are quite enjoyable.

Biggest issue is the handling, you either understeer to the point you're going straight into a wall or Takumi it if you remotely go anywhere near the brakes.
I'm perfectly fine with a Volvo 242 doing 230mph though, that bit I can live with. It's a dodgy ass NFS after all.
