Don't be ridiculous. That's not how the EU works. There are seven different institutions that form the EU government and a large population would only theoretically grant power over the European parliament (I say theoretically because the members of parliament are organized into cross-state parties and give little shit about individual state pushed legislation) which would then be overruled by the two Councils, the Commission, and France, Germany and Italy's titanic economic weight. Not to mention that Turkey's population is comparable to Germany's and dwarfed by the entirety of the Union.

The reason EU has no accepted and will not accept Turkey any time soon is precisely because it is a shithole with more problems than benefits and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. It's got nothing to do with EU somehow being afraid of Turkey.
